Ruland was a kind addition of our family. She constantly read a spell book. "I need find some ex-clan l

members." she muttered. "You're right." Her Leviathan friend, jimmy said.

"I'm going to try to find some soldiers. Could you find some too?" Ruland asked. "Sure." Carlisle said. Ruland left the next day. Edward and I reached out the the Denalis. "Sure Bella." Tanya said when I asked her if she would help. I breathed a sigh of relief.

Ruland pov

I walked up to Felix Highstone's house. i knocked. "What do you... Oh hello princess." He said. "The prophecy is coming true I need soldiers." I kept it simple. "Sure where?" Felix said. "I'm going to try to recruit. If you don't want to come with me I can drop you off at the house I'm using as a base. Jimmy is there." I said. "I'll come." he said. We went to all of Felix's friends from the good all days. I had to turn on my princess charm but I filled the van I took from the castle during my escape.

As I drove in to the Cullen's drive way Felix asked me why I was using a vampire house as a base. "They have a mental shield. She can protect us from spies." I said putting the van in park and turned it off. Jimmy and Edward went out to greet us. "Guys this is Edward his mate is the Shield." I said. They murmured a hi. "I'm going to get the Seer to help us and try to find my mate." I said.

Hildegarde was the scariest person at first. Once she knew she could trust you she was sweet. I was about to knock when she opened the door and said "Ru I've been expecting you." "hey Hilde. I assume you know why I'm here." I said. "Yes I accept. Help me pack my things in the van.." She said. It took a few hours to pack the van. we were off. She lived in Maine so the trip was gonna take awhile. "How is he?" I asked. "Your mate? Fine. He's happy. He was a rogue. Now he is uh.... different." she said. "Thanks. I guess." I said.

As we pulled in the driveway Edward came to greet us. "Hello Edward Cullen." Hilde said. "I didn't tell her about you." I said. his jaw dropped. "She's a Seer." I explained. "hi Ru. Hi Hilde. Can I call you Hilde? I saw another Seer and I got excited." Alice came out. "Of course." Hilde said. Alice's eyes glazed over and Hilde gasped. "What?" I asked. "The Volturi noticed." Alice said. "We're doomed." Edward said. "No we're not. All royal werewolves have charm. When we turn it on no one can refuse us except a shield." I said.

A few weeks later

Demetri pov

I don't know why Aro sent me with Jane. we neared the clearing where the girl we were supposed to kill was. "Felix you're out of practice. I'm kicking your ass." the girl said turning from him to face us. As I saw her beautiful auburn eyes and her long raven hair no thing mattered anymore. A voice I hadn't heard since I was turned said mate my mate. Jane didn't seem to care. She leapt at the girl. "No." I yelled and blocked her strike.

Ruland pov

"No." a stranger yelled blocking a small blond girl. Our eyes met.

"Felix he's my mate." I said. "Demetri you fool I had her." The girl said. "Mate." He snarled. "What?" the girl stepped back. His red eyes turned into the yellow eyes of a wolf. "He means my wolf is his wolf's mate." I said. She wanted to hurt me kill me. I turned on my charm. "Leave now and tell your masters Ruland would prefer if they came themselves." I said. She spun around and left. "Who are you?" He asked. "I'm Ruland. Princess of the Night Rose Clan of werewolves." I smiled. "I'm Demetri of the Volturi guard." He told me with a hint of disgust. The three of us went to the house.

"Why the hell is he here?" Alice asked. "He's my mate. Why didn't you tell me he was crystallized?" I asked Hilde. "I've been busy working on how to uncrystallize him." She said. How could she. She healed me when I was broken. She took me in after.... no it's too painful. I shifted and ran off. "No Dimitri she needs to clear her head." I heard Hilde say. I shook my head and ran.

Demetri pov

"What did Ruland mean by crystallized?" I asked. "You were turned into a vampire like a rock. You were a werewolf but when you were bitten your wolf fell silent. I guess from your talent you were meant to be an Alpha." The witch said. "He truly loves her." the bronze haired one said. "Edward's right. I see a bright future ahead right Hilde." The smallest Cullen said. "Yes Alice. They will have a bright future. Their pack will be huge." The one I assumed to be Hilde said. Ruland came back. She was smiling at me. For the first time since joining the Volturi I was truly happy. I felt the bonds that tied me to the Volturi snapped. I didn't care. All that mattered was the angel before me.

Ruland pov

"We have one week before I go into a state of uncontrollable hormonal sex drive also known as the heat." I said. I half expected Demetri to go crazy and run. I was happy when he didn't. "Would you mind explaining?" Demetri asked. "When a werewolf sees their mate they have one week before their scent drives any and all werewolf males crazy. The heat also increases mating chances. The female is often locked up until it passes." I said.
