It has been about a month sice I began my tests with the professor, and I'm really getting in the hang of shifting from one evolution to the other. Claw has also been helping me practice, and has come to every one of my sessions with the Professor. So, starting today, I'm going to start battling other Pokemon (Like, REAL Pokemon, not humans) to really crack down on my abilities.
Today, I get to fight the Professor's pokemon. First, a Charizard. That big, blundering fire-lizard is going to pumble me for sure!
"Ready, Eve?" The professor says, Pokeball in hand. I nodd, and shift into my normal Eevee form. "Alright." He says. "Lets begin!"
He tosses the ball into the air, and when it opens, a red beam jumps from the ball onto the ground in front of me. When it disolves, that monsterous beast stands there screaming. "Ha! A puny Eevee? Do these humans honestly think it is possible to defeat me with something so small?!"
"Huh! The arrogance of some Pokemon!" I growl, but it sounds more like a squeak. I know this Pokemon's weaknesses, so it shouldn't be too hard to beat him. But I guess I can show off and scare him a bit.
I turn away from him and start running towards a chair behind me before I hear his arrogance again. "HA! And now my tiny opponent is fleeing! They should have known that something so weak was no match!"
Time to scare. I leap onto the chair, then against the wall, and when I push off, I spin in mid air and aim straight for the floor, emagining burrowing through the floor. And I do. I stay under for a few seconds before coming up from beneith him and attacking him with DIG. I catch his stomach hard and send him flying. The arrogant fire lizard stands and eyes me carefully. "What is this? A simple Eevee cannot perform that attack!"
"Good thing I'm not a 'simple Eevee' then, isn't it?" I growl as I land, dragging my now sandy tail along the floor. "Ready for another one? I'll let you try first."
The charizard growled from deep in his throat, a menacing sound, but didn't move. He was waiting for his trainer. "Charizard, use Fire Blast!" The professor calls, and just as the jiant pokemon is about to attack, I dive back into the ground.
Charizard hesitates with his attack. "Charizard, fly and aim at the ground below you!"
Just as I burst out of the ground, ready to attack, my opponent jumps and pelts me with his attack, blowing me almost back into the hole! I move just in time and turn on the now flying Charizard. "Is my puny opponent ready for another attack?" He laughs, and I growl/squeak again.
"Oh, yeah." I say and feel myself smirk.
"Charizard, Body Slam!" The blundering beast positions itself above me and quickly folds his wings in, dropping his whole body.
Fissure... I think and feel the split in the ground. Quickly, I leap to the side, and watch the stupid lizard Body Slam into the Giant crack I created. One hit KO! I jeap a bit in joy. "I won!" I purr, and return to the seat I was in before.
The Professor calls back his Charizard and summons another pokemon. "Blastoise! Hydropump!"
Before the pokemon was even out of the ball, he had his order. Without thinking, I transformed into some leaf version.
"Woah." I hear Claw murmer from somewhere behind me after Blastoise's attack ends. Grass Knot! My summoned attack erupts from the ground around Blastiose's feet, and he falls with a painful--sounding thud. Slowly he gets back onto his feet.
Suddenly, the professor tosses out another pokeball. His Charizard is healed and ready to fight again!
"Blastoise, Hydropump again! Charizard, Flame Wheel!"
My first instinct, I need to use protect! But I don't know what form to use!
"Leafeon, Spiky Shield!" Claw screams from the sidelines, and I do as commanded, transforming into a perfect example of a Leafeon. My shield is erected perfectly, protecting me from Hydropump and part of Flame wheel, but unfortunately, most of Charizard's attack connects with me. The Spiky Shield inflicted some dammage on him though!
Claw, who has really seemed to get into this fight, moves behind me, calling suggestions, or what I'm taking as suggestions. "Jolteon, Zap Cannon!" Feeling the power almost instantly, I open my mouth wide and feel the comfortingly powerful electric charge beginning to develop, but it gets cut short as another Zap Cannon pummels the two pokemon standing before me. "Holy crap." Claw murmers from behind me. I look around the room, confused, and my eyes land on a small Pichu, recently fainted.
"What just happened?" I ask, shifting back into my human form. Walking towards the Pichu, it twitches its ear slightly before being retracted into a PokeBall the professor had on hand.
The professor just smiled. "That's the end of our training today." He says before approaching me and handing me the PokeBall. "And it looks like you made a new friend." He smiles, then ushers me out the door, along with Claw and the Ball.
~~~~~
"Will you tell me what happened?" I ask claw as we make our way back to the school dorms.
Claw shakes his head. "I don't really know myself." he says, sounding disappointed and a little embarassed. "That Pichu came out of no where."
I look down at the PokeBall and emagine the little mouse Pokemon on the other side of the thin red lid. Why did he attack my opponent?
We walk in silence the rest of the way to the school and only say our goodbyes at the dorm entrances. Slowly, I make my way up to my room, and unlock it quietly. The girl next door complains about how noisy I am when coming back from the Professors lab.
Trying to be as quiet as I can, I slip inside and just as I close the door, the pokeball slips out of my hand and falls to the floor, landing on the button. Pichu, materializing from the red beam, emerges. The little mouse looks groggy, its ears are flat to its head and it is rubbing one partially opened eye with one paw. Slowly, the little thing yawns, and finally looks around the room. Calm for a moment, before he notices me. Then he freaks out. Instantly, he is wide awake and running around my room, nocking things over and wripping at things.
I hear the next door girl bang on the wall hard, and try to think of a way to calm him down. Then it occurs to me. I get down on my hands and knees and shift into my Jolteon form. Deas the trick. The Pichu instantly relaxes and moves out from under my bed, approaching me. 'Where did you come from?" He- no, she asks me softly, then looks around. 'Where did that human go?'
I can feel myself smiling as my electric fur sparks. 'I am that human from earlier. I can change my form from a pokemon to a human and back again.'
The Pichu looks at me, surprised. 'But humans are mean! They put us in those tiny little round things! You are nice!'
'Humans can be nice.' I say and hop onto my bed. The sheets sense my pokemon type and mold into an electric proof comforter. 'Come up here. I will tell you about us, okay? You don't have to be scared, I promise.'
'If you are a human, will you put me back into that ball?'
'Not if you don't want me to.'
And for the next few hours, we just talked. about humans and Pokemon, and how terribly small the PokeBalls are. It was around midnight when the tiny Pichu finally fell asleep, curled up against my stomach. I curled up around her and, for the first time, fell asleep without a problem.
