As Aphmau was pointing out the directions towards the abandoned church/temple I stared out the window as houses and tree's passed by until finally stopping in front of the church/temple in front of a small but seemenlying large forest behind the church/temple.
It was massive!!
It was old and a bit run down due to passing seasons and weather slowly breaking down the once white bricks and sturdy oak wood down to unstable and broken down pieces of trash.
"This is the place, common you've just got to check out the back!"
Aphmau stated out as she unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the car's door on her side as she got out along with the rest of us as we made our way towards the front of the church. Aphmau walked in easily sliding through the large crack between the door and the wall since it was chained locked to keep unwanted outsiders such as the animals inside to make it their home. With a small click the door opened as we ducked down under the chains into the church. Inside was a different story from what it looked on the outside, everything was dusty, dull, and there were already spider webs on the corners of walls and ceilings along with a few more bugs clawing around their run down home.
The chairs were still placed up neatly in a row faced towards the front where the altar and a statue of lady Irene on the far back wall with her hands together and looking up towards the ceiling in giving prayer.
"Guys common, we still will have time to look in here until we see what the back looks like!!"
Aphmau exclaimed ahead of us as she was near another door that must lead to the back of the church as the three of us followed her to the back.
We all gasped in awe at what we all saw from the looks of what we saw turned out to be something unexplainable. There on a far side was an overgrown garden still in good health and untouched. A fountain still flowing with water that shimmered and sparkled under the rays of the sun light as another Irene statue was above in the same position as the other. A field of flowers and slightly over grown grass spreaded across the field as there, on top of a single hill there grew a cherry tree that bloomed pink and slight purple petals that swayed along with the soft breeze of the wind. It was astonishing that this all was behind a run down church that no one knew about.
"Amazing huh? No one knew about this place until now, i'm amazed how everything back here looks so clean and untouched while back in the church everything is so dirty and sadly run down"
Aphmau explained as she looked back towards the church.
"How did you find this place anyway Aph? It's not like you magically knew about this place that so many people has come by and not even paid any mind to even look or check it out??"
Katelyn then asked as we all turned to Aphmau waiting for what she had to say.
"Well since you asked, i accidently found this place by lazily wandering around the mine-google map app until this place picture popped up and i was like ', i have the need for adventure so imma go check that out!' and so yeah"
Aphmau explained until Jeffory spoke up.
"And what the name of this church?"
"I think the name was something like 'Souls Safe Heaven' something like that, i really can't remember much"
Aphmau shrugged as we all decided to walk around a bit to explore.
I went back inside the church wanting to see what else was inside the old run down church aside from the neatly lined up chairs. On the back there was still some rails with dusty and slightly melted wax candles with a broken stained glass picture of lady Irene's symbol and relic. Each candle was in a long glass container with faded pictures of what seemed to represent some of the divine warriors ,but it was hard to make out who was who. I thought i felt a pair of eyes on me as i turned around to look around to see who was staring at me ,but no one was there, or at least i thought they were. Taking one last look at the candles until turning away as i walked towards the back where there was a few doors that lead to different rooms.
There was a main room where there was a main desk and filing cabinet that seemed to belong to the person of whoever owned this place until it became old and rundown enough for them to not be able to pay enough for the repairs or they wanted something new and better. A little curious i walked over to the filing cabinets as i opened the top one that let out a roar of banging metal being pulled out as dust flew out free into the air creating a small grey dust cloud only disappearing in an instant. Inside was an unorganized filing system as some of the papers were poking out being captain obvious of noticeable details as paper sticking out of their folders. Closing the cabinet and then moving onto the next one which was under the top as it was the same story. Papers and folders unorganized, few papers stuck out of their place and dust layering over what they can touch.
The others were the same as i left to look around the desk until the floor gave off a creek as i walked towards the desk but stopped when i felt the same pair of eyes from before watching me as i again looked around to see nothing or no one there. That what i thought until i turned back to where was i was going only to slightly jump back when Aphmau was in front of me with large eyes.
"Wha cha' doin'?"
Aphmau spoke up as she looked around the office where i was looking around as i gave her a short answer.
"Looking around"
My words were slow and unsure...
"Really?"
Why is she asking that?
"Really what? Am I not allowed to look around and be curious?"
I joked as she gave a small giggle.
"Nah, i thought you were playing in a mountain of dust since.....you're um....covered in dust yourself ya'know"
Aph pointed out as i looked down at my jack to see it was indeed covered in dust making part of my jacket lighter with little white and grey particles. Giving a small grunt i began to brush off the dust off my jacket as it flew off into the air making Aphmau sneeze.
"Bless you"
"Thank you"
Aphmau said while shaking her head a bit as i looked at her confused.
"Pardon?"
I asked as she looked up at me.
"I sneezed and you said bless you ,and i thanked you"
She explained as i raised an eyebrow towards her.
"Um Aph, i didn't say anything"
I told her as she looked at me and then looked around as i did the same wondering if Katelyn or Jeffory had came in and heard Aphmau sneeze.
But no one was there.
There was a sudden cold chill that creeped up the back of my neck as Aphmau seemed to shiver feeling the cold as well. I took off my jacket as i wrapped it around her small frame as she thanked me until she was cut off with a loud sudden creek and an eerie blow of the wind coming from the- wait...there isn't even a window in this room!
"That's odd, there are no windows in this part of the-"
I explained as something fell with a loud bang behind us as Aphmau jumped screaming and running out of the room as i stayed behind coughing and waving my hand around to wave off the particles that lingered through the air to get a clear view of what had fallen.
