Once the air was clear I coughed a few more times and rubbing my eyes of the dust that may have in my eyes making me wince in pain for a bit. Once i was able to rub off the reminder of dust off my eyes and clothes i looked around to see what had exactly fell that had made that loud bang to even make make dust fly up into the air. That's when i have spotted what that object was but it was no bigger than a mere bookcase.
It was nothing more than a bookcase with a lock that can hold three books inside protected from any damage as it had fallen from its place upon the shelves. I let out the breath of air that i never knew i was holding in until now. Chills continued to crawl up my spine as i went over picking up the bookcase only to hear something fall out making a small metal cling against the floor. Looking down at what had fallen as the small metal object shined on the floor.
It was a cross.
A black and silver cross to be exact with a golden color chain.
Crouching down i picked up the smooth cold metal from the ground as the golden color chain hanged by the small round silver round bale (the small round thingy that holds the object and string together).
I felt another shivering chill go down my spine as i heard running footsteps from the distance as i shoved the necklace into the pocket of my jacket and hiding the bookcase in my sweater as Katelyn, Jeffory, and Aphmau came rushing in.
"Aaron what happened??
Jeffory spoke up looking around as i began to explain to the what was happening but i bended the truth about the bookcase falling. However i did not mention them about the necklace figuring that it wasn't really important for them to know.
"So...yeah Aph, the thing that caused the loud bang was nothing but a case falling from its place"
I ended the explination to them as Katelyn looked at the floor then back at the ledge that held some of the books.
"Then how come they are not on the floor?"
Katelyn had asked suspiciously about as i looked at the other books.
"I put them back?"
I said but it came out more like a question then an answer but, thankfully she let it be for now hopefully.
"Why don't we get out of here, this place is nice and all but it's giving me the chills and i need to get back and check on Celestia"
Aphmau spoke up as we all nodded in agreement as we began to head out towards the front of the church as a lingering feeling of being watched never left. As we were all getting in the car i could have sworn that i saw a shadowy figure standing standing behind one of the torn curtain covered windows until i blinked once or twice before it was gone just like that as the car started forward back towards our home as the church began to fade away as far as the eye could see.
I'm going back TONIGHT.
I thought to myself as i sat back and continued to hold the bookcase that was inside of my jacket, keeping it out of sight until I was inside of my own apartment where no one could see.
~Time Skip~
As i waved bye to Katelyn, Aphmau, and Jeffory as they headed off towards their homes while i began to walk up the stairs quickly until i spotted Mr. Griffin T. leaning against the rails in front of his apartment smoking a cigar looking off into the distance with dark bags under his eyes indicating he was tired from days of work. I felt the bookcase as my mind began to wonder what these books were and why they needed to be protected? Why was it locked? Are there really books inside? Why am i asking myself this?
