Prologue

IN 1996, SET NEAR AT THE ICY MOUNTAINS, FORTY MILES AWAY FROM THE METROPOLITAN NEW YORK CITY, the Clandestine Ops Facility is attempting their work away from the government, trying to create the cure of the leading killer terminal cancer. The head of the operation, Dr. Ming Chung, known as Master Chung, inserts an algorithm to the cure serum to insure that the vital signs of the patients are strong. When the serum generation is complete, Dr. Chung warns to his fellow scientists:

- "Mark my words, ladies and gentlemen. This serum is very miraculous, but if fallen to the wrong hands, it will be the birth of a deadly war."

The serum is called the mutagen, representing a hybrid combination of genetically enhanced and modified compounds of 800 different DNA's from different regenerative and self-healing lifeforms. The mutagen is injected into four test subjects: four adopted baby girls from different parts around the world. The babies were then put to sleep and carefully placed on vault capsules to ensure protection, from any harm of any kind. Dr. Chung's trusted assistant and engineer, Kcov, questions him irrationally, in Japanese language:

- "Is it ready, doctor?"
- "Patience, Kcov. It may take time to process the serum on the organism of the patients."
- "How long it will take, doctor?" [looks to the vault capsules] "To process the serum inside the patients?"
- "The mutagen will spread on the blood like a virus. Although the virus takes up to ten years or more to disrupt the entire operation system of the a lifeform, the mutagen will transform the organism into its self-healing form and generate the cure on the blood."
- [with an evil smile] "And how much we can earn from it?"
- [worried, changes expression on the face] "Pardon me?"
- "You heard me, doctor. How much we could sell it for?"
- "Are you insane? The cure is not for the merchandise! We created this cure to save people."
[inhales deeply and exhales deeply] "Of course we did. That's why I'm offering you a big deal." [reaches his hand inside his jacket and presses a hidden button]
- "Kcov, you're not being the same person I once met at the airport!"
- "I'm sorry, doctor. But that's how it's supposed to be."

The hidden button on Kcov's jacket was to summon the masked ninja mercenaries, know as the Cobras, and they suddenly raided the facility to kidnap the babies, and killed the fellow scientists working on the projects. During the raid, Master Chung secures the babies, but accidentally releases the facility's radar through the city area, allowing the New York Police Department to track their location and send their crime units to the facility. Master Chung is then surrounded by the mercenaries and surprised by Kcov and his master, the evil head of the mercenaries: Shao-Khan. The three talk in Japanese language as well:

- "Dr. Chung."
- "Shao-Khan!"
- "I'm grateful for your service to this miracle."
- "Kcov! Why are you doing this? I trusted you!!"
- [holding a scientist on his hands] "Save it, Chung. I already have plans with the cure. I'm sure you're gonna love it!"
- "You scientists did good as well. But it's unfortunate that they have met their end." [Shao-Khan drags a katana] "And there's only one way you'll not join them, and that is if you give me what I want. Give me the mutagen."
- [looks towards the capsules, merciful of the infants] "Khan! Don't do this. Please! We only wish to save people, and they're our only hope."
- [Shao-Khan kicks Master Chung on his face] "You are very unwise, doctor." [raises the katana to stab Master Chung on his chest] "And now, YOU WILL DIE!!"

Suddenly, a top police team, led by Captain Detective David Jones, arrives and raids the facility to apprehend Shao-Khan. The police and the mercenaries engage to a gunfire fight and the mercenaries are defeated.
