Chapter 20

*Cole's POV*

"So this is the plan...you call her dad and beg and cry asking to see her and you tell me what the room number is and when we get to the hospital you go and ask to talk to him in the cafeteria or something and I will sneak into her room real fast."

"That makes sense," she says and nods.

"Okay so it's time to call him."

She calls the number and after 3 rings he answers. "Hello?"

"Um hi...this is Hope Sophia's best friend I was um just wondering if you could tell me what number you moved her to so I could come see her?"

"Is this some stupid plan so that thug can come see my daughter?"

"I though he was still at the hospital with her," she lied.

"No I banned him from seeing her."

"Please...can I just come see her I need to see my best friend I'm losing my mind here not knowing if she is okay!" She cried.

"She is fine...but I suppose you could come see her,"

"Thank you! Thank you!"

"She is in room 235," he told her.

"Okay I will be there soon!" She hung up and looked at me smiling. "It worked!"

"I know," I said, "but we still need to get him away from her room so I can go in."

"I can do that," she explained, "I will bring out my acting skills for you."

"Okay I'm going to go to her house and talk to her mom." She nodded and we both walked out of her house and to our cars.

I drove to her house to tell her mom everything that is happening hoping she would be able to help me. I know Sophia doesn't have a great relationship with her mom but it was worth a shot.

I drove the short distance from Hope's house to Sophia's and pulled in the driveway. I marched up to the door and pounded on it until her mom answered. "What can I do for you sweetie?"

"Your daughter is in the hospital."I said, "I called you when she first got in but her father answered your phone and he came." She nodded indicating for me to go on. "I was there all day and night yesterday and I woke up this morning and she was gone...I went to find a nurse and they said she was moved and I was banned from seeing her."

"I'm going to kill him!" She screamed. "Look I know my daughter thinks I hate her but I don't...she just thinks that because I can't stand looking at her and having to lie to her."

"What do you have to lie to her about?"

"She always thought her father was a perfect Saint when in reality he was far from it," she explained. "He was in a lot of trouble with the police so he ran away from us...he comes and checks up on her when she isn't home but it is just so hard for me to lie to her about her father."

"You know you should just tell her the truth I think it would make her feel better."

"I really appreciate you coming here so let's head to the hospital and we will go see her."

I nodded and we headed outside. "Do you want to drive in my car?"

She nodded and got in the passengers seat of my car. We drove to the hospital and I saw Hope's car a couple spaces away.

We walked inside and up to the front desk. "Hello how can I help you?" The lady at the front desk asked us.

"I am here to see my daughter who had been here for a day and no one called me!"

"I'm sorry ma'am can I have the name of your daughter please?"

"Her name is Sophia Davis!"

"Okay her father is here and told us no one is allowed to see her unless he approves it so I can call him down here now if you'd like."

"I am on her medical record and he isn't he has no right to say I can't see my daughter and he has no right to say her boyfriend can't see my daughter!" She screamed in the lady's face.

"Okay um let me just check her medical records real fast."

"Yeah you go do that!" She said while turning around to face me.

"I can't believe this!" She yelled.

"I know this is ridiculous."

"Um ma'am," the nurse said, "you can go up to her room I'm sorry for everything," she said looking down.

"What is her room number?" She asked, "and I want her father out of that room before I get there."

"Yes ma'am...her room number is 235." We walked towards the elevator and pushed the second level.

We got out of the elevator and went and found her room. We walked in and her father was gone and Hope was sitting in the chair by Sophia's bed crying her eyes out. I walked over to Hope and gave her a hug as she sobbed into my shirt and kept saying she's not going to make it.

"She's going to be fine." I said trying to calm her down.

Sophia's mom came over to us and grabbed Hope from me and said, "Hope let's go and get something to drink and calm down okay?" Hope nodded and they left the room leaving me standing by myself in her room. I walked over to the chair Hope was just sitting in and sat down and grabbed Sophia's hand.

"Please wake up princess...I don't know what I would do with myself if I couldn't see you smile everyday or I couldn't hear your laugh, see your beautiful face everyday,be able to say I love you to you every minute of everyday and tell you how much you mean to me. You would probably just roll your eyes at me but you would secretly be smiling and end up saying I love you too. I have been planing on how to ask you to prom and it was going to be amazing. So please Sophia wake up so you can see my awesome way to ask you to prom. Please wake up and let me see your beautiful eyes. Wake up and let me kiss you and hug you and never let you go. Please wake up." I looked down and realized I had been crying the whole time and there where tears on her hand.

"If you don't wake up I'm going to end up in jail because I'm going to kill Chase with my bare hands."

I sat there in silence crying and praying she would wake up and be in my arms. Soon I fell asleep holding her hand and leaning my head on her bed.

A couple hours later

I woke up to something moving next to me and I instantly shot up and realized it was Sophia moving next to me. "Sophia?"

She moved a little more and her eyes were slowly opening and I could see her beautiful eyes once again. She looked around the room a little bit before she made eyes contact with me and a smile started to form on her lips. I started to smile right back at her and she wiped a tear from my cheek and tried saying something but couldn't. I got up and got the cup of water I found on the bedside table. "Here drink some of this," I told her.

She drank it slowly then handed it back to me and I put it back down on the table.

I grabbed the sides of her face and kissed her like my life depended on it and climbed in the bed next to her and hugged her. She put her head on my chest and wrapped her arms around my stomach.

"I love you too," she mumbled.
