"Where is my friend?" I said sitting up. I was in so much pain.
"Oh. Well, your friend got hurt really bad," My body went numb. "We had to put your friend in a special room."
"What kind of room!?" I said freaking out.
"Miss Lyder. It's a room if patients are really hurt we put them in a high oxygen room called Hyperbaric Chambers. Where the dead tissue is removed surgically. We might possibly have to do Skin Grafts which may also be replaced the burned skin with healthy skin." She said handing me a cup of water and pills.
"What is this?" I asked her.
"Pain medication." She stated.
It hurt so bad to swallow.
"Is my friend going to be okay?" I said trying to hold back the tears. It hurt so bad to cry.
"Well, he is older and bigger. He should be okay." Said the nurse rubbing my back.
I looked at her in confusion. "No no. I've been talking about my teenage friend that is a girl. Brooklynn Redman." I said sitting up.
"Oh your little friend. She didn't get hurt as bad as the gentleman did. She's been waiting for you to wake up." Said the nurse laughing.

I woke up thinking I was at home. So I roll over to get out of 'bed'. And I get this major shock pain throughout my body. I let out a little scream. A hand touches my arm.
"Honey, are you okay?"
I roll back over to see my mom sitting with Patrick, on her lap.
"When did you guys get here?" I asked mom. I tried sitting up, but the pain was so unbearable.
"We got here an hour ago." Mom said
"Awexis." Patrick said sticking his hand out.
"What happened?' Mom asked me putting Patrick on the ground to play with his toys.
I explaned to her about us not paying attention, and then the van hitting us. How I was scared that something would happen, and I would never be able to see them ever again.
My mom turned her phone on. She was studying her phone for a bit. And then through it in her purse.
"What's wrong." I asked her.
"Your father heard about the accident and he's coming over to 'check up' on you." She looked like she had no emotion. She wasn't sad, happy, worried, or scared. She had no expression on her face at all.
"It'll be okay." I said reaching for her hand.
She got up and put her purse on her shoulder and started walking away.
She came back. "Brooke's mom said she could take you home." She came back over to me. And gave me a kiss on my forehead. I winced. "Love you." She started walking away.
She didn't come back.
"Knock knock, can I come in?" Said a male voice
I look up, and it was my dad.
