His heart wanted to stop beating as soon as Nathaniel told him not to forge his bond with Chandler. Nathaniel was telling him to go against everything they were taught as children. They were told to hang on to that one person as soon as you found them, because you only get to hold them and keep them safe for just a little while. And it was true. His parents for example, they were poisoned not that long ago and eventually passed on. But they had each other, and they died together knowing that they loved each other for as long as they could while they lived. He knew they had no regrets, anyone could have seen it in their eyes.

So Nathaniel telling him to go against his nature was starting to piss him off.

"No." He stated as calmly as he could. His control was only hanging by a thread.

Nathaniel's eyes darkened in rage. "What did you just say?"

He took a bold stance and stiffened his back. "No," He repeated.

"Think again little brother about what you are saying." Nathaniel took one step towards him, trying to act threatening. Nathaniel was trying to command him, seeing as he was Alpha, and his word was law.

"Jeremy!-" Nathaniel's growl echoed my living room.

"Nathan stop!"

Both men turned their attention to the hallway where Alyson and Chandler were standing. Jeremy had not heard them come out of the bathroom, and he didn't think Nathaniel did either. Alyson stood there with her hands on her hips and a pissed off look on her face. Suddenly his gaze went to Chandler.

She was beautiful. Her brown hair, with those burgundy strips, and her pail complexion made her look like a beautiful porcelain doll. A fragile porcelain doll. My porcelain doll, he thought. A sense of pride and completion filled him as he thought of her as his. Even after only knowing her for such a short time, he knew that she was his match in every way. He had no doubt.

Her eyes were soly on him. He slowly smiled, and in turn she rolled her eyes, but he still saw the faint sign of blushing cheeks.

"Stop this," Alyson pleaded, "before someone gets hurt."

Nathaniel's hard gaze was placed on his life match and he did not waver. Nathaniel had given him an order and he wanted him to follow it. "Alyson, he needs to learn, that what I say and when I say goes."

He scoffed. "What are you going to do big brother? Make me submit?"

"If I have to." Nathaniel's eyes burned with power.

His fists clenched.

"Nathaniel!" Alyson yelled.

He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His own brother was admitting to forcefully submit him.

"Jeremy is just trying to be with his life match! Nathaniel, please calm down" Alyson tired to reason with him, but he wouldn't listen.

"No!" Nathaniel's voice grew louder. "This pup," Nathaniel pointed to him, "needs to learn who's in charge and that is me!"

He moved protectively in front of Chandler, who was standing with a pale face and shaking hands. Her hands immediately fisted into the back of his shirt, clinging to him. He breathed in a whiff of air and her scent filled his body. A growl, low in his chest, reverberated as he saw his brother's lips upturned and a flash of his canines was visible.

He went on the offensive, ready to phase and fight his blood to keep his sacred one safe.

"Nathaniel! You are scaring my sister! My sister! Stop it!" Alyson moved to stand in front of Nathaniel's body. "Reign it in. Now!"

Nathaniel eyes passed between him and his wife before nodding slowly. Taking deep breaths Nathaniel reigned the beast inside of him and put him to rest. Though his canines receded, Nathaniel's eyes were still as black as night.

"I will deal with you later," he said through clenched teeth. "I'm going home to run. Do not come by the house tonight." The warning was clear.

"Chandler is staying here. Be respectful of her please." Alyson then said her goodbyes to her sister and then followed her mate out the door and into their car.

He was afraid to face the fragile being behind him. He didn't want her afraid of him either. But her hands were still fisted in his shirt, which he took as a good thing, as she didn't seem frightened. And she hadn't started yelling at him to explain everything.

He was ready to talk, but she stopped him.

"Don't say a word." Her small, yet bold voice held such power over him. It was just inexplainable. And wonderful. "Just answer this one question."

He nodded, ready for anything. Minutes passed, and he waited. He wanted her to have her time. He wasn't going to push her, for he didn't want her to run from him.

"Wolf?" she asked.

He nodded, and waited some more. He was expecting her to scream, throw things, or do both. But he wasn't expecting her to wrap her arms around him and hug him, and say, "That's cool."

He smiled. He loved her. Absolutely and unbarringly loved her.
