The other Swan

Chapter 4

I start Forks High School today, as a senior. I get out of bed and I stretch out, earning a few pops from some bones. I change into some skinny jeans and a blue half sleeved sweater. I put on my converse high tops and I patiently wait for Bella to get out of the bathroom.

I zoom in the bathroom once Bella opens the door. She laughs and walks downstairs. I brush my hair and leave it wavy. I smile at myself and I go downstairs.

"My girls. Have a good day Bella. And have a good first day Raven." Dad says.

"You have a good day at work, daddy." I kiss his forehead and reluctantly go to Bella's truck.

"You happy about your first day?" Bella asks.

"Yes." I say, not wanting to talk to her.

The school is a decent size. The parking lot from the rain yesterday. I shrug it off and I step out of the truck. A girl with dirty blonde hair approaches me.

"I'm Jessica. Come on. I'll show you the office." The girl says.

"I'm Raven and okay. Let's go." I smile.

Jessica and I walk to the office. I get my schedule and follow Jessica into the hall. Turns out, Jessica and I share the first tree classes together ; Spanish, English, and Biology. We walk to Spanish quickly so we aren't late.

Edward and Bella are in my biology class. I sit next to a guy named Mike.

"Bella was my friend last year. Then she got hooked to the Cullen's." Mike says.

"Yeah. Bella and I have a nasty relationship." I sigh sadly.

"That's sad. What's your schedule?" Mike asks in a friendly manner. He is dating Jessica.

I hand him my schedule. We share our other classes. Fine by me.

Mike walks me to lunch. I join him, Jessica, Angela and Eric at a lunch table.

"Guys. This is Bella's sister, Raven." Mike introduces me.

"Hi." Eric says. "Welcome to our table, Swan."

I shake my head in a friendly way and I sit between Mike and Angela. These people are very interesting.

Bella drives off the lot without me. I stomp my foot angrily and I take off walking.

Half way home, the rain begins. "Really?!" I scream out in horror.

I see a Rabbit stop. I see a boy with cut off hair roll down his window.

"Come on. I'll give you a ride." He calls out to me.

I climb into the vehicle without hesitation. "Thank you so much. Bring me to my house. I am Bella's sister."

"You're Raven. I'm Jacob." He says and he starts down the road again.

"Nice to meet you." I smile at him.

He soon pulls up to dads and he turns to look at me. "Have a good week and i see you Saturday morning."

"See you then." I lean over and kiss his cheek before getting out.

I walk past Bella's truck and into the house, still soaked.

"I punished Bella." Dad says.

"Okay. Jacob gave me a ride half way." I smiled.

"I like that Jacob kid." Dad says with a smile.

"He seems awesome." I say before going to the kitchen. I see Bella cooking. "I'll make myself something." I dig in the fridge.

I make myself grilled cheese sprinkled with parmesan cheese. I take my seat at the table.

"How was your first day?" Dad asks.

"Good. I made friends with Mike, Jessica, Angela, and Eric." I reply.

"I'm proud." Dad says. "You looking forward to tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I actually am." I go to the house phone after dismissing myself. I call Jacob.

"Hello?" He answers tiredly.

"It's Raven. Did I wake you?" I ask.

"Yeah, but it's cool. What's up?" He asks.

"Can you be my new ride to and from school?" I ask.

I hear his deep chuckle. "Yes, Raven. I'll be your personal bus."

I burst out laughing, causing my dad to smile at me.  "Thank you Jake. See you tomorrow."

"What did you call and bug him for?" Bella sneers.

"One, he is my friend. Two, I need a new ride to and from school. He agreed ." I reply and go to my room.

I lay on my stomach after changing into some batman pajamas. I am flipping through a fashion magazine Alice gave me when I met them the first time.

I sigh, getting bored. I lay my head off the edge of my bed. I twirl my hair around one finger and I whistle to Bruno Mars. I kick my feet in the air.

I go to my computer and I open up Facebook. My status from last night has 100 likes. I smile in satisfaction and then I close it off. I start jumping on my bed. I am giggling and laughing.

Gah. I'm bored. I step out my window, with a blanket wrapped around my shoulders, and I sit on the roof. I lay on my back and I watch the starts twinkle in the sky.

I see dad pull in again. He had went o Billy's for the game tonight. I climb through my window and I drop the blanket on my floor. I run downstairs and I hug my dad.

"Hey daddy. How was the game?" I ask.

"We won." He says holding up a six pack of beer. Yuck.

"You two and your beer." I say with an icky voice.

Dad shakes his head and kisses my head. He heads upstairs to his room for bed. I go back to my room and I climb into my bed. I stare at the ceiling for the longest time. I had a real good first day of school. I met Jacob today, he is really cool.

Jacob will be picking me up Saturday to introduce me to some of his friends down in La Push, on the reservation.

My eyes begin growing heavy. That is when I realize how tired I really am. I curl up into a fetal position as I drift off to sleep.
