Zayn's Point Of View

I jogged into the hospital, the paparazzi flashing cameras and shouting questions right behind the closed doors. I slowed to a walk and stuck my hands in my pockets. I soon came to Jade's room, but the door was shut. So I decided that I would sit on one of the chairs outside of her room, waiting until the door opened. The doctor is probably talking to her.

"Well what do we do?" A voice asked, exasperated. I glanced at the windows showing into her room, and saw what looked like Jade's parents, Jade, and a doctor. Her parents looked like they were desperate, and Jade looked like she normally does. Bored and not caring.

"It's hard to tell. Just keep paying, and we'll see what we can do." The doctor explained, telling her parents. Her mum nodded and glanced at Jade, and quickly left the room. Her father followed closely behind. I looked back in the window and saw that Jade was talking to the doctor, but I couldn't hear what she was saying.

Maybe this is a sign that I shouldn't be eavesdropping...

I sat back in my chair and waited for the doctor to come out. After a few moments, he did.

"Doctor!" I said, getting up from my seat.

"Yes?"

"What's wrong? Is Jade okay?" I asked, slightly worried.

"Shes fine, but the rest I can not say unless you are close friends or family." The doctor said stiffly.

"I'm her friend." I said.

"Well, Jade's parents can no longer afford the treatment and medication for her. And ultimately, she's going to have to be discharged." He told me.

"Let me pay." I said instantly. He looked at me, searching my face. He finally nodded and handed me a paper.

"Just put all of your information on this and sign."

I did exactly that.

I handed the paper back to him and he nodded and disappeared.

I have way too much money, and it probably won't even dent my bank account either. I don't even like having the amount of money I have, and it's good that I'm spending it like this.

I walked into Jade's room. She looked up at me and sighed.

"It's you again."

"Hi to you too, Jade." I said, smiling. I walked over and sat in the same spot I did yesterday.

"What do you want?"

"I can't come visit and hang out with you?"

"No. Now leave." She said, and pointed to the door. I chuckled and shook my head.

"Sorry, I'm gonna stay here."

"Damn." Jade mumbled, crossing her arms.

We sat in silence. "So, were those your parents?" I asked.

"Why should I tell you?"

"Because."

"That's not a answer."

"Yes it is."

"No it's not."

"Just tell me. Please."

Jade huffed. "Yes. They don't seem like my parents though, they never come visit. The only visitor I've ever had in the two years I've been here us you. Besides the doctors and nurses."

That's horrible. Her parents don't ever visit her?

"What about your friends?" I asked.

"They all moved away. we write letters and talk on the phone and stuff, but they're never able to come." Jade said, staring at her bed.

I'm her only visitor. That's not right.

"I'm sorry." I told her.

She looked at me. "No need to be sorry, popstar. You have a perfect life while I lead a shitty one. You have no reason to be sorry."

She's actually being... kind of nice. Oh my god.

"Who are you, and what have you done with Jade?" I fake gasped, grinning. She rolled her eyes and scowled.

"God, your annoying."

"But you love me."

"Ew, no."

"That hurts, Jade. It really does." I said, smiling.

"I'm glad it does." Jade replied, smirking. I started laughing and she scowled at me again.

My laughing quieted and Jade glanced at me, probably wondering why I stopped so suddenly. I just started to stare at her. She sure was beautiful. Her dark brown eyes, the darkest brown I've ever seen. Almost black. I really wish she would take her hood off though. I don't care if she doesn't have her long black hair anymore, I think she's still stunning with out it. Same with her make up, she doesn't need to wear it anyways.

"Why are you staring at me like that...?" Jade trailed off, staring at me.

"You are very beautiful."

Her eyes widened.

"Can you take your hood off, please?"

She continued to stare wide eyed at me.

"No." Jade growled.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Stop acting like you care."

"But I do care." I said.

"I'm just a charity case for you. You celebrities don't care about anybody other than yourselves." Jade seethed, glaring at me.

Well. That was a punch in the gut.

"You are not, and I care about everybody, not just myself. And I'm sorry if I offended you or anything." I told her, staring down at my lap.

"Whatever, popstar."

I smiled slightly when she said that. At least I know that she's not super pissed at me to not call me by my nickname she gave me.

"Why don't your parents come?" I asked, looking back up at her.

"We're asking a lot of questions today, aren't we?" Jade muttered. I just stared at her.

She sighed. "Don't know. They just don't. Maybe because they both work several jobs, but I don't know." Jade said, looking across the room.

"I'm sorry." I said again. Jade shrugged.

"It's not your fault. It's all mine, for getting this damn disease."
