This may not technically be a poem. I'm not sure... I'm just mainly making it for Thanksgiving :)
*****
As the voices around me grow,
I bow my head in thanksgiving.
Oh, Father,
You have blessed me so much,
For I know I may be ungrateful,
But you are always there,
To pick me up.
You have granted me with this wonderful family,
That have helped me grow up.
You have granted me with sisters & brothers in Christ,
That have helped me grow in You.
Words could never explain,
The depth of love I have for You.
I know my words may never be enough,
To explain,
How thankful I am,
For others have it much worse,
And at times,
I'm upset with what you have granted me with.
You have taught me this year,
To be thankful for what I have.
You where the One,
Who picked me up when I fell.
You where the One,
Who loved me,
When no one else did.
You where the One,
Who came after me,
When I turned away.
You where the One,
Who loved me enough,
To make Your only Son,
Die on the cross for my sins.
And that, Father,
Is the one thing I am most thankful for.
I am thankful,
You picked me up when I fell.
I am thankful,
You loved me,
When no one else did.
I am thankful,
You came after me,
Even after all that I have done.
I am thankful,
That You, Father,
Gave Your only Son to pay for me,
So I could spend eternity with You.
I am thankful,
That you came after me,
And filled me with Your over-flowing grace,
And never-ending love.
