As soon as I got home I  heard yelling. I sighed and quickly ran to my room, setting Lilith down on the bed. "Lilith... Stay here. I'll be back in a few minutes..." I said, watching as she nodded a response. I smiled at her, walking out of the room and closing the door behind me. I walked to the living room. The second my father saw me, I felt a sting on my left cheek. Tears started to form in my eyes. Yep... Hes drunk.... Again... I thought as I winced and doubled over, holding my stomach. Another punch shortly followed... Before I could even register the pain I've grown used to, I saw blood on the ground. I started coughing. He punched me in the jaw.. I spit out a tooth. Just great...i thought, coughing again, trying to keep the blood from dripping down my throat. I sighed in relief as he started walking away. But, he must have heard me and turned around, back handing me before walking away. I started walking towards the bathroom to wash the blood off. I felt liquid sliding down my cheeks. You're really going to cry over something like that? You're so weak... I thought, wiping my eyes on my arm, feeling a different liquid this time. Blood... I sighed and walked in the bathroom, looking in the mirror. Black eye. Bloody, probably broken, jaw. Bruise on my left cheek. I looked down and lifted my shirt a little. Two large bruises. A few open scabs. Nothing major. As long as I'm still breathing, its nothing major. Still breathing... I stared into the mirror, not seeing myself, but rather my twin. Her name was Elizabeth. She was my identical twin. Was.... Until the day "father" went a little too far. She got sick of it all. So sick... So sick, in fact, that she needed to go to the hospital. Not from being sick.. But because she was in a coma... He had gone TOO far... She later died in the hospital... I was the only one to stay with her the whole time. She was...my best friend... I wiped a tear from my eye and the image of Eliza disappeared. I sighed and cleaned myself up before returning to my room to find Lilith looking at me, wide eyed. I whispered softly, "i'm fine... Dont worry." And forced a smile, feeling bad about lying. She would understand why I lied, right..?
