Superstar In Training- Chapter 1

"Today's special guest is Ms. Gabriella Knight!" The overly perky blonde interviewer exclaimed toward the cameras. I silently rolled my eyes before walking out on set, realizing I have to deal with yet another one of these annoying bottom of the totem pole interviewers.

This is what I hated most about traveling to London. I was constantly bombarded with work while the rest of my family got to do a good deal of exploring and shopping.

I walked out once the set manager pushed me forward. I smiled and waved to the cheering crowd. I took a seat, smoothing out the uncomfortable dress Drew and Mia somehow managed to force down my body. The interviewer was still smiling at me. Don't do anything-stupid Gabby, a voice that sounded strangely like my manager Mrs. Abby rung in my mind. I just grinned back.

"Ok well Ms. Gabriella-"

"Please, call me Gabby. Whenever someone calls me Gabriella, I feel like I'm in trouble." I politely interrupted.

It's true, whenever I'm called Gabriella trouble always follows and don't need any more publicity troubles after the whole restaurant-paps incident. I really truly did not mean to hit his 500-dollar jacket with spaghetti. I was aiming for his 1000-dollar camera.

"Ok Gabby. How was your flight here?" The interviewer obviously just Googled me and called it a day. Not another one of these.

"You know, it was okay. I'm exhausted though, the 10 hour commute from Florida to here isn't the most ideal way of travel you could say."

I hated having to fly all the way here every month with my mom. It was an absolute pain in the neck. Useless really.

"Oh yikes, that sounds terrible! But..." I guess you could say I zoned out after that. I use my pre-programmed answers from Mrs. Abby to answer the same questions I've been asked at least ten times each without missing beat.

"Well it looks like we are all out of time... But it really was delightful being able to talk to you." The woman stood up, and I simultaneously followed suit. I hugged her and walked toward the stage manager who was waving his hand for me to hurry off the stage.

"That was quite a show Ms. Knight." My chauffer, named Bobby commented. Bobby was one of those really nice old guys, with the crinkly smile and it's all adorable. He's got the homey grandpa aura around him.

I faked a grin at him. "Why thank you Bus Driver Bob," I quickly responded, letting a slight smirk follow my words.

He dramatically rolled his eyes at me, which is a habit I bet he picked up from me from spending hours on end together. "Once again Ms. Knight, it's a limousine this time."

"Is Limousine Liam ok then princess?" I asked innocently, giving him a sloppy grin and gripping his wrinkly cheek. He shook his head out of my hold and patiently led me out the back door where a shiny black car was waiting.

I climbed right in and settled in the very front, so I'd be able to talk to Bobby while he ushers me place-to-place. This guy is a lot more interesting than anyone else I get stuck with. He has so many stories it's ridiculous.

Before we could get a move on, the door reopened and Alexander my head security guard appeared. He gave me half grin and just climbed into the back. Sitting directly across from me.

I love Alex, a lot. He's super sweet, but comes off super shy. But the guy is just one of those people where you know although he doesn't express it, he has your back no matter what, and I can talk to him about everything. He's fresh out of college I believe, only 23 years old. So with all the people that get stuck with me, he has the realest view on what exactly goes on. Whenever I need someone to talk to, I can go to him, since he probably has the freshest view on it, and he'll help no matter what. And my favorite part is that he never tattles on me when I tell him something. Lately I don't know many people like that.

Plus he's absolutely adorable, with fit muscles and a killer smile.

"Where are we going to now?" I directed the question to Bobby, but Alex piped up.

"You were supposed to have one more magazine interview, but it got cancelled. I've got direct instructions to take you back to the hotel."

One turn off to Alex is he's always serious until you tell him not to be.

"Oh, ok then." I sighed and slumped into my seat, Alex looked at me with a sad grin.

"Tired kid?" He asked and I just nodded my head in response. I reached up and shook the brown hair on his head from its neat and tidy hold. He chuckled at me, obviously used to the action since I do it whenever we are seated by each other. When Alex looks more relaxed than tense, he looks ten times hotter. I really am just looking out for the boy.

Before I could actually shut my eyelids, the phone resting in my back pocket vibrated. I groaned loudly while hearing Bobby and Alex both laugh at my expense. I swear I can't get one break. I fished my phone out of my pocket, expecting to see another annoying message from Mrs. Abby. But to my surprise, it wasn't.

James: Heard you're back in town, down for dinner tonight? J

I tried my best to stop the fluttering in my chest, but it was uncontrollable. I grinned and giggled, trying to think of a suitable response. "That's obviously not the she-devil herself. Who is it?" Alex asked, but not in a rude inquiring way, I know he was checking out for my safety.

"Obviously James!" Bobby piped up and Alex let a smirk grow on his face.

James was on Xfactor with me. And well during the season the two of us kind of developed and off screen romance a tad bit. But of course it's nothing serious. You see, James is 17, so when he got third and the season ended, Simon signed him. Then, James moved straight out to London with the permission of his parents of course.

But for me it was a bit different. I'm only 14, so after I miraculously somehow placed first, I wasn't really allowed to move straight out here. Of course I came out here and had my signing meeting and all of that, but I wasn't allowed to stay. My mom didn't want to move out here and lose her job and all of that, which I don't really understand but wasn't allowed to argue with. So she then spent a solid 2 and a half hours fighting with Mrs. Abby and Simon about not having me relocated permanently at such a young age. After all the arguing, the end agreement is I would fly over the first week of every month. And it sucks.

So anyway, James and I are together without being together, talking I guess you could say. Whenever I'm in town and not swamped with work, you could spot us together.

Me: Of course! Down to pick me up at 7 outside my hotel?

I didn't even get a second to blink before my phone vibrated again.

James: Yeah babe, see ya later.

To say I was happy and excited was an understatement.
