David's POV

"David"?

"David"!

"David!! Can you hear me"?

Someone is calling my name. I open my eyes and try to sit up but the monster headache knocks me right back

"ugghh" I groan painfully

"Take it easy" Mark looks at me.

"What happened?  Where am I"??

"David, you passed out. What is going on with you man"? Mark questions worriedly.

His face is laced with worry.

"I was about to go turn in an assignment when I saw you dash towards the restroom. Next thing I know,  you screamed so loud. So I rush into the bathroom and I see you on the ground. I had to half drag you to the clinic "

You scared me David, what is going on"? He presses.

I'm fine. I just had a splitting headache is all"

"A headache?? Really"?? Mark looks at me skeptically.

Uhh, yeah Mark, a headache. Am fine now though " I reply with a little more assurance.

"Promise"? He asks, his eye scanning my lying form.

"Yeah, promise" I say as I sit upright.

I never really told Mark about my mom, he only knows she died. Heck, I can hardly remember what happened too. Anytime i try to remember, a monster headache hits me really hard. Some nights,  I have nightmares about it but I never really find out what happened. All I know is it was my fault.

"Is he good to go? Will he be okay" ? Mark asks a man in white coat who I assumed is the doctor.

"Yes, Uhh, he is good to go . I gave him a pain reliever shot and I'm going to prescribe some drugs for him.

"OK doc, thanks".

Mark helps me up and we both walk to the door.

"Umm, Mr David, can I speak with you quickly"? The doctor calls out.

"Sure" I reply. Mark gives me a smile and steps out.

"Mr Davi"-

"Please, call me David"

"David, I am not a neurosurgeon but I do know certain things and this one, I know for sure. When you were rushed in here by your frien-"

"He's my brother" I cut him short again.

"Pardon me. Your brother, I checked you and the symptoms I saw is not just of a regular headache. I believe we should carry out more test on you before a conclusion is drawn."

"But personally, I think it is worse than a headache. We sh-"

"Does my brother know about this"? I interrupt him for the third time.

"No. I didn't tell him. I'm under the patient's confidentiality oath. I cannot relay information concerning my patients without their consent".

"Ok then" I let out a breath.

"I can refer you to a neurologist. He would carry out a more specific test". The doctor says.

"OK doctor. Thanks" I say as I stand up and shake his hand.

"Anytime" he replies before handing a card to me.

I walk out of the doctor's office only to see Mark sitting on a chair. His eyes closed. I quickly slip the card inside my pocket.
