Back in time...

Chapter 15

Severus was frantic. Hermione was gone, she'd been abducted by The Dark Lord.  
Shit!
He had to rescue her. He was going to rescue her. 
Upon making this decision Severus bolted out of the dungeons, turned a corner and...
'OOOF!'
Exclaimed the object he'd collided with. He spluttered an apology and started to flee again when a delicate hand wrapped its pale fingers around his wrist, preventing him from moving any further.
He turned, death stare in place to practically petrify the poor soul that had decided to mess with him at this particular moment. But the moment his obsidian eyes met round orbs of emerald green, his glare melted away.
"Severus? What's the matter?"
Upon hearing Lily's words Severus drew in a rasping breath in an attempt to remain his composure but when an image of Hermione's bushy brown hair matched with that oversized grin flickered through his mind, he could be strong no longer. His frame collapsed; knees knocked, back bent and shoulders shuddering as he gasped "she's gone."
"What? Severus? What's happened? Please explain!" Lily interrogated him, a panic rising within her. Despite her efforts only trembling breaths were returned, and she realised she was going to get no where with this mess of a man. "Okay 'Rus. Let's go and sit down, shall we? Have a quick chat, and you can tell me all about it. Okay?" She coaxed, her motherly nature settling in. After a mere lift of his chin in reply she directed him over to one of the many wooden benches that lines the multitude of Hogwarts' corridors.
They sat awkwardly, Severus still bent double and shaking. Lily slid her fingers from their grasping position on his wrist down to his long, slender, ink stained fingers and intertwined them together. With her hold of reassurance he drew in a long breath, feeling his lungs expand and deflate again, calming himself, and he began to talk...

Okay. Okay, I know it's been ages but GCSEs are taking over my life! No rest for me... I do apologise for the quality of this chapter but it was written at 3am so blame my fatigued state. This one is for @you_cant_handle_me because she actually commented on this!
