"WHAT!?" Lily exclaimed. "Severus please, slow down. What's going on? Has Hermione been kidnapped?" Lily asked, a snake of fear coiling through her stomach. She didn't have to wait for an answer, one glance at his dark eyes told her all she needed to know. A breathless sob escaped, threatening to break her. But it didn't, she was strong and will continue to be, for Severus' sake, for this poor and broken man. "Severus." Spoke Lily, her voice brittle, "Severus look at me." She placed a delicate hand on his taught cheek and his raised his chin to look at her, tear tracks running silently down his cheek. "Severus, we shall quickly find James, Remus and Sirius, leave a message for Dumbledore and go rescue Hermione." Hearing Hermione's name seemed to flick a switch inside of him and his eyes filled with purpose, straightening and standing his broken self vanished and his features began to knit themselves into strong duty with a glint of malice. Lily could see it now, where she never had before. This was the Severus they all feared, this was the nightmare, this was the Severus that was going to save Hermione.
