Oh no!

Hailey's POV

I woke up by my alarm clock. Roar by Katy perry was on the radio. Time to go to prison. I went into my bathroom and took a shower, then I got dried off and went to my closest. I decided to wear a cute red knitted sweater from American eagle. Then I put leggings on, pairing it with my black combat boots.
I went and did my hair, putting it in a cute messy bun. I went down stairs and I saw Mac standing there flipping pancakes.

"Good morning Mac!" I said to him.

"Good morning my beauty!" He said to me.

"Hey is mom here?" I asked.

"No she had to leave to go to work." He replied.

"Here is your breakfast." He said to me placing the plate on the table. It was pancakes with bananas, strawberries, and Nutella on the side with whipped cream and maple syrup. Yumm my fav!

"Aw thanks Mac." I said smiling

He sat down across from me to eat.

"So what's your plans for tonight?" he asked me.

"Well me and Hannah were going to hang out tonight." I said to him.

"You know after dance rehearsals." I told him.

"Cool. I was going to go hang out with Mark. Oh did I tell you he was wanting to ask Hannah out.

"Oh my gosh! No way! Aw that's so cute!" I said. once we were finished eating we both packed up for school.
We walked out the door and he held my hand.

"You ready for your first day back to school?" He asks.

"Uhm not so sure.. but yes." I told him.

"Remember we have quite a few classes together. So if you need me I will be there for you." he explained to me.

About five to ten minutes later

We arrived at school. The first class me and Mac were in together. And Mac say behind me.

"Good morning class today we will blah blah blah blah..." the rest was all gibberish.

It was History class so it was really boring. Then the second class was Math. Then it was lunch.


Mac's POV

It was lunch time finally. I sat next to Mark, Hailey and Hannah.
All the sudden I hear a loud voice shoot across the room.

"Yo! Where the heck is Mac?" I knew just who it was.
Cody. The toughest guy in school.
He walked over to me and held his fist.

"You hurt my little sister?! I'll hurt you!" He yelled at me.
Uh oh.

"I'm sorry man I'm just not interested in dating your sister. Because I'm taken." I tried to put it in the nicest way possible. Then all I felt was a huge punch in my face. I fell backwards it hurt so bad. everything went black. I tried to resist getting knocked out. but I couldn't. Everything went black.
I could hear Hailey yelling and then I heard a few slaps across skin, and I could hear a grunt some one fell to the floor next to me. Oh god please not be Hailey.


---------------------------------------------- At the Hospital

My eyes fluttered open. There was a nurse In a very white room. Am I dead? No I can't be. All I remember is being knocked out.

"Hellos sir, you must be Mac. Hi I'm nurse Nancy. And I just want to ask you a few questions, if that's all right with you." she said to me.

"What is your name?" she asked.

"I'm Mac." I said.

"And age?" She asked.

"Fourteen." I replied

"Good so you remember the important stuff. So you don't have memory loss." she explained to me.

"What about Hailey?" I asked hoping she was ok.

"Well she is walking fine and such. she was abused by a young boy about sixteen years old. Cole was it? Or was it Caleb?"
"Cody. He beat me up and all I remember is that I heard slaps across skin and then a grunt. Then I heard someone fall to the ground." I explained to the nurse.

"May I see her?" I asked.

"Well sure, let me go get her hun." Said nurse Nancy.

She walked into the hall. and let Hailey come in.
Hailey sat down on my bed and gave me a hug.

"How you doing?" She asked me.

"I'm ok. But what I'm really worried about is how your doing." I told her.

"Im doing fine. I tried to protect to and he decided to beat me up. But you helped me so I had to help you." she told me. I now realized cuts on her arm and she had a huge bruise on her face.

"B-b-b-but your face, and your arm?" I stated more as a question.

"I-I-I will be fine."she told me. there was black letters written on her arm saying 'Your dating mac but you should really be dead.'

"Hailey your not telling me the truth! You aren't ok. I know because of your arm! What the heck is going on? Why on earth wont you tell me whats going on?!" I yelled. Hailey's eyes watered.

"Im sorry that I just wanted to protect you!" She said to me. I felt hurt but also knew she was being nice to me. And I had a room in her house.

"Im so sorry Hailey I just was i the mo-" she cut me off.

"No its fine. At least when you protect me I say thank you!"

"I-Im sorry. Im sorry I doubted you. And it means the world some one cared to stand up. And I'm happy it was you." I was telling her the truth.

Nurse Nancy came in.

"We your injury a are not bad, not bad at all. A few bruises but we would have to just let it heel on its own." said the nurse.

"As for you my dear we have some medical cream to put on your cuts so the heal up. If you just come with me we can get you some." Said nurse Nancy talking to Hailey. They left and Hailey's mom walked into the room.

"Well.. Hailey is happy you are ok." Hailey's mom started.
"do you mind telling me what happened exactly?" she asked.

"Well I received a text from Coal the toughest guy in school saying that he would beat me up after school... I guess he just wanted it done early. He punched me I the face I fell backwards and everything went black. I could hear Hailey screaming at him then it went quiet. I heard a grunt and someone hit the floor. I just didn't know it was Hailey. but she stood up for me and I wanted to thank her." I explained to Hailey's mother.

"You know I think I have just messed up Hailey's whole life. Maybe I should move with my mom." I truly stated.

"Oh sweetheart Hailey loves you. Trust me. She would hate to see you go. You are always there for her. And the fact that you can protect her is amazing. she's never really had someone in her life like that." he mother told me.
I saw Hailey's glowing personality walk into the room.

"Well you guys can leave when ever you would like. If you want to stay for a bit. And Mac or Hailey if you feel you need to stay over night please go to our office.

Hailey, her mother and I walked out of the tall hospital. We got into the car and Hailey's mom started the engine.

"Well it's been a very long day, but you guys got to get to dance practice. So I'll drive you guys home to get your stuff." Hailey's mom told us. The car ride was silent. Very silent.
