This is so crazy. I was expecting Dad and two kids my age, instead I get two 13 year old brats and no dad.. I was looking forward to seeing him again. I miss mom and dad so much... Hear them laughing and arguing over tv characters in the living room. "How come Rita doesn't know Dexter is a cereal killer?!" Mom used to ask, "She can't hack brains." Dad answered. Or watching them mix chemicals and find new reactions and freaking out when they do find a new thing. I felt my eyes grow watery and swallowed trying to keep a strong face.
"Nap time Baby Moe." I said to my nephew picking him up from our play mat and putting him in his crib. I texted Asua that I layer him down. He's such a good baby, he passes out almost instantly after he's put in the crib. I should go visit my ghostly friend."How come you never visit me anymore?" Okio asked. I shrugged. He floated over to me.
"I've missed yoooouu." He said in a creepy voice.
"Shut up." I laughing pushing him away.
"I've got more friends now anyway. The grim reaper let me stay for a while, but eventually I need to leave this realm Angel." He told me. He's still 17, and I am now 16. I caught up with him.
"Got something on your mind?" He asked. I shrugged again.
"Oh come on. Who am I going to tell? The old cat lady who just died? Seriously you should open up to people a little more." He told me.
"It's just my dad. I miss him and mom, and his little brats won't tell us where he is." I answered. I know there's crap he isn't telling me. I know the grim reaper of the area is long gone. Why can't he go to the afterlife?
"Hey Okio, seriously tell me why you can't go to the afterlife?" I asked. He looked at me with a weird expression. Like I just found him out.
"I told you, grim reaper said-" he began.
"Come on! Stop giving me bs and answer the question." I said annoyed. He heavy sighed and I stared at the flowers at a new grave.
"I have unfinished business on Earth... So I can't 'Rest in Peace'." He answered.
"What business?" I asked.
"Not kissing my crush. It's impossible though. She would never notice me. I wish I gave up on her when I was alive.. My dead life would be easier." He told me. We sat in silence for a while before I thought of something.
"What if I make you a Zombie?" I asked. He looked surprised.
"Is that possible?" He asked back.
"Well, Mia said we lived in the Human Realm before I lost my memory. I remember watching a show about Zombies before I left and if monsters are real, then Zombies must be real right?" I said. He thought to himself for a moment.
"I've never met a Zombie." He said.
"Neither have I." I agreed. There must be someway to bring someone back to life. Maybe like Frankenstein? Mom and Dad can help!... They would help... They can't help... Not anymore... Dang it Angel suck it up they're gone and they're not coming back so drop it. Maybe instead of Science, magic? Neil, Alex, and Haru are wizards and witches. I should ask them!
"I'll see you tomorrow Okio I have an idea!" I jumped up and ran to the portal at Fred's mansion. The mansion seems haunted now, everything's dusty and kids broke into it at one point and messed up the place. Me and Asua only use it to get to town, so does Mia when she goes to work here. She still works at her diner. She's the manager now, who knew she would be such a good waitress. I miss living in this place..."Haru! Help me out!" I tugged on Haru's tail coat. He turned around and glared at me.
"Help you with what?" He asked.
"Can you bring Okio back to life?" I asked. He thought to himself for a moment.
"Do you have a body?" He asked.
"No.." I answered. Okio's body is decayed by now...
"Then no I can't." He told me.
"What! Is there a way you can make a body? O-Or attach his soul to one of dads old prototypes! Just like dad!" I jumped.
"Sorry Angel I cannot. That's impossible, I don't know how Fred's soul attached to a mechanical body, his soul must have been strong. I've seen nothing like it in all my years." He said. Now he's fangirling over dad. I miss dad so much...
"How old are you anyway?" I asked.
"26." He answered.
"Wow your old." I said.
"26 is not old, your parents were just very young." He defended himself.
"Whatever, I think you're not even a wizard if you can't save my friend..." I crossed my arms. He heavy sighed and I heard very loud foot steps come up behind me. They echoed in the long and tall halls.
"I agree, I think he's weak too." Mia said. Haru glared at her intensely. Neil and Alex came up behind Mia, they walk like Ninjas compared to Mia.
"I wouldn't challenge him if I were you." Neil said crossing her arms. Her Scottish accent is so fun to listen to.
"Oh yeah? What if I do?" Mia teased. Haru looked at her and motioned for Mia to walk closer. She took a step forward and she started shining yellow.
"Haru no!" Alex yelled jumping for Mia. Alex bounced off a invisible barrier. Mia looked at me. What's happening?
"She said I couldn't chain her. I am tired of her mocking me." Haru said simply. Fear swept over me at Haru's tone.
"Mia! Mia! Say something!" I yelled.
"She can't speak sweetie." Neil said looking down at me.
"What are you doing to her?!" I asked in a yell.
"What are you doing to my mom?!" I asked more sternly. The barrier dropped and Mia fell to the floor. Haru stood strong and smiled. This is probably the first time I've seen him smile... Like a real smile... Mia breathed heavy. Alex kept her distance and I slowly walked towards her. I out my hand on her shoulder and she jolted away.
"Don't touch me." She said in a low growl. Alex pulled me away and Neil walked over to Haru.
"Did you really chain her?" She asked. We all stared at Mia and Haru's smile faded. Mia moved back her long thick light purple hair back showing her forehead and looked at us. Her expression was angry but submissive. Her scarf fell down her neck when she was in the barrier. She clenched her teeth and her fangs were very visible.
"Bastard." She said in a low voice. Haru laughed and offered a hand to Mia. She spit on his hand and slowly stood up. He wiped his hand off on his pants.
"You shouldn't treat me that way." He said and snapped. Mia grabbed her throat like she was choking.
"Ok ok!" She struggled to say.
"Haru please!" Alex cried. Haru snapped again and Mia coughed.
"What did you do to her?" I asked horrified.
"I chained her." He said rolling up his sleeve to reveal chain tattoos. Well they looked like tattoos. They weren't 3d.
"Mia show your chains, to a respectable extent." Haru ordered. Mia took off her scarf, then the sweater she wore over her tank top, and she pulled her hair up and held it with her hand. The same chains were along her arm and went over her collar bone and into her shirt. She turned around and the chains went down the back of her leg.
"Thank you. As you were." Haru said. Mia put her sweater and scarf back on. The chains are only on her left side. Haru had them on his right.
"May I have permission to touch skins with your dog." Alex bowed and pleaded.
"Yes." Haru consented. Alex ran over to Mia and jumped in her arms.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save you I'm sorry! I'm too weak I'm sorry Mia I'm so sorry!" Alex cried in her arms. Haru had a neutral expression and Neil stood close to him smiling. Damn witches.
