(Abigail's POV)

I winced quietly as I was slammed forcefully against the lockers behind me.

"Did you hear me? I said, give me your phone, slut." Lexi growled.

I struggled under her tight grip but I couldn't move. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone. I threw it at her and in one quick movement, she reached up and effortlessly caught it in one hand.

"Pleasure doing business with you." she laughed sarcastically.

I knew better than to reply so I scurried off down the hallway to my next class.

Maybe I should explain, Lexi is the popular girl of the school. To everyone else, she is little miss sunshine. You know, the usual: perfect, lovely, beautiful - the works. But to me, she is a monster. Don't bother asking why because I honestly don't know. She just doesn't like me.

I stopped in the doorway of my Maths classroom.

I couldn't be bothered with it so I spun on my heels and walked back down the hall to the back exit of my school.

I walked out and pulled up the hood of my jumper to hide my face from the CCTV cameras that surrounded the school gates. I hurried down the road and turned down a small alleyway. Although it was the middle of the day and the sun was shining brightly, the overlapping rooftops made it impossible for any light to shine in making the alley almost pitch black. I sat down on the cold concrete paving and rested my back against the building behind me. I was going to take out my phone and text my three best friends, Keira, Joy and Ashley,  to ditch with me but obviously that wasn't an option since Lexi took my phone.

I rested my head back against the wall and let out a deep sigh.

I don't see why Lexi hates me so much. I never did anything to her, and she has absolutely nothing to be jealous about. She is beautiful with long blonde hair, stunning blue eyes and a perfect figure because she practically starves herself. I, on the other hand, have curly brown hair, eyes the colour of mud and my figure isn't bad but it's no where near as good as Lexi's because I actually eat food. I don't see how people can starve themselves, I can't go an hour or two without food.

The girls and I come here a lot, by the girls I mean my best friends. The four of us enjoy the quiet, the dark and the company of each other. I like the dark. I know that sounds weird but no one can see me or judge me in the dark.

I heard a noise come from the exit of the alley and I whipped my head around to see what made the noise. I squinted my eyes to try and see through the dark. I made out a boys figure, walking quietly down the alleyway.

I wasn't really sure what to do so I went to stand up and walk out of the alleyway and back onto the street. I rushed to stand up but I moved to fast and lost my balance. I fell over into a rubbish tip that was about half a metre away. I sat up and I could feel my cheeks instantly turn red.

I heard the footsteps pick up their pace and then I saw the boy from a minute ago standing at the rubbish tip.

"Are you okay?" he asked quickly as he reached down to help me up.

He helped me to my feet and I looked down at the state I was in. "Yeah, thank you." I muttered as I tried my hardest to wipe myself down.

He helped me out of the bin and then he said, "Do you live nearby? You can come back to my place if you need somewhere to clean up?" He had a strong Irish accent that I have to admit, was completely adorable.

I hesitated. I had literally just met this boy. I couldn't even see what he looked like because it was so dark. I didn't know where he lived, I didn't know what he was like, in fact, I didn't even know his name.
