Once all the detergents left, Oxi and Tide were finally alone in the laundromat. They had been meeting like this for a while now, 6 months in fact, and had become more than friends recently. But still, they kept it hidden from their best friends, Snuggles and Shout, because the two were scared of what they would think. This one particular night they were sharing secrets with each other. Telling things that neither of them had told anyone. Things that not a single soul should know.
Tide had hidden his feelings for a while now. "Hey Oxi, do you uh," Tide looked at Oxi and blushed, putting his hands deeper into his pockets and leaning against the wall. "Do you maybe wanna... Do you maybe want to stay at the Laundromat a little longer?" The Laundromat was a small diner next to the school that the boys went to after a long day at school. "Loads." He paused, waiting for Tide to hear the fantastic pun he made. His smile quickly disappeared. "Hold on Tide, what if Snuggle or Shout sees? What about Febreze?! What will she think?!" Oxi was nervous. He liked Tide so much but didn't want to risk his friendship with the other detergents. "You know, I've been thinking." "That sounds dangerous." Oxi joked. Tide laughed, "Maybe we should tell the others? I mean, we are laundry detergents. Laundry detergents have to stick together. We deserve to live without fear like them. They might get a little upset, but they can't hate us." He shrugged. "Sounds like a plan... How are we going to say it though?" Tide thought to himself for a little while. "We will cross that bridge when we get there but I gotta get home or my mom will get upset. See ya tomorrow."
After a long day, school was finally over. Oxi, Tide, and their best friends were hanging out at the laundromat again, discussing and gossiping about the other students and teachers. They both knew that this was the day their friends were going to find out the truth. Oxi and Tide turned to Snuggle and Shout. "Guys, w-we really need to tell you s-something..." Tide said in a shaky voice. Oxi was too nervous to speak so Tide took the bullet. "What's up?" Shout said. Oxi looked around making sure the jerks Ajax and Downy weren't around and mustered up as much courage as possible. He took his hands out of his jacket pocket, grabbed Tide's hands, leaned down, and kissed him on the cheek. Tide froze and blushed tomato red. They thought it was best to let their friends take the guess.
Shout squealed. "I knew it! Oh my god, I called it! You owe me ten bucks Snuggles!" Snuggles turned red and looked down. "Good job guys..." He turned and walked off. "SNUGGLES! Where is my money?! We had a deal!" Shout yelled. Snuggle kept walking. Tide and Oxi looked at each other nervously. Shout turned back around. "Hey, he'll come around. You can't stay mad at the most adorkable gay couple ever. I am literally so happy for you guys. I can't wait to tell Dove!" Shout smiled. "Go ahead!" Oxi said.
