'Chat...'

Mari gaped at him as he revealed himself. Adrien appeared, and she gasped, covering her mouth that was probably hanging agape. She was lost for words...

I was shocked to see Chat reveal himself to me...

But that wasn't the problem.

The main point was...

He was Adrien!?

I felt blood rush up to my cheeks as I realized the countless of times I rejected my crush.

But then I paled as I remembered that if I were really Akumatized, then I would've...

Tried to hurt Adrien.

Tried to harm my friends...

Succumb to Hawk Moth's needs...

I crumpled to the ground as I realized what I probably would've done.

'M'lady!?' Chat asked, worried.

'You stupid cat!' I shouted.

'Why are you still around me!?' I scolded him, not looking him in the eye.

'Why do you still dare to come close to me, to care for me after what I've done!? I've probably caused chaos all around Paris! Chat. Please, just, go. You probably can't stand to be around someone like me,' I cried in guilt and remorse.

I knew that I would regret saying that. Breaking down in front of him. Breaking down in front of Adrien. I knew. Yet I still did so. Something in my heart just wouldn't let me just let this be. Everything just felt so complex and complicated. Why couldn't things just be what they appear to be. I'm sick and tired of this.

I felt so bad for Marinette. M'lady is truly the most kind hearted person I've ever met in my life. I quickly engulfed her into a tight embrace. I didn't muster a word to comfort her. I just held her body in my arms, and she stopped talking. She just sobbed and cried, tears spilling out of her beautiful bluebell orbs. After a while her sobbing died down. It was silent for a moment and after that she stood up and I let go.

'Come on you dumb cat,' she smiled. 'There's someone here who's been dying to see you for a long time now.'

My heart skipped a beat.

Looking to where Mari was leading me, I saw a beautiful woman standing in the midst of tall summer grass, with the eternal blue sky over her. She turned over, and smiled at me, and the sun seemed to shine brighter.

'Adrien.'

I let out the breath that I was holding.

'Mom,'

I ran into her embrace and hugged her. She beckoned Marinette to join in, and the three of us just seemed t stay there for eternity...

Until Marinette pulled away.

She turned around, and here was Tom and Sabine, and their bakery, and then the school, and the Eiffel Tower. Then Alya, Nino and the students and teachers all appeared.

France has fallen... into heaven.

Yeah.. That's probably not a phrase. But whatever. That technically means France has been destroyed for good, everyone's dead, and that's the sad ending. Not really good at this sad ending thing.
