The coldness of the night made Bai Luo Yin's body became stiff and rigid like a rock. By midnight, a layer of ice already formed on Bai Luo Yin's clothes.

Every strand of his hair was like frozen popsicles. The chilly cold air penetrated through him from the tip right to the roots of his head. He felt his legs going numb and seemingly no feelings or any sense of perception at all.

At that very moment, if the need to amputate his legs arose, there would be no need for anaesthesia or painkillers.

To make himself feel warm, Bai Luo Yin started to run around the garden but as soon as he started running, the dog started howling.

As soon as it howled, a person with a face as pale as a ghost came over and told Bai Luo Yin: "You can't create such a ruckus here."

Bai Luo Yin now fully understood the experience and feelings of being beset by hunger and cold. If he really psyched himself up, he knew he would be able to withstand and endure what he is going through right now.

The only things that are testing his forbearance to get through the chilly night are the endless waiting game and being unable to catch a glimpse of even a faint glimmer of hope.

Bai Luo Yin walked as far as he could from Zhen Da Cheng's bedroom. He walked right to a corner between two walls and made himself inconspicuous. After nestling himself in between the nook of the walls, he gave Gu Hai a call.

It was very late at night when he heard Gu Hai's tender voice which was filled with much love and warmth.

"It's so late and you're still not asleep?"

Bai Luo Yin's frosty hands and palms were shivering and trembling so hard but the tried to maintain his composure while chatting as casually as he could to Gu Hai.

"I'm a bit cold, talk to me for awhile."

Gu Hai's heart ached when he heard what Bai Luo Yin said. "Are you being stupid or what? If you're cold then cover yourself up with more blankets.

"What's the point of telling me? Go to the cabinet and quickly take the blanket out. Don't be lazy!"

Bai Luo Yin wanted to laugh but it was too hard to do so in the bitter cold so he replied Gu Hai,
"I don't want to go. I just want to chat with you."

Gu Hai paused for a moment. His tone became somewhat softer and gentler. "Are you missing me, my baby?"

A gush of fierce wind passed through; coaxing Bai Luo Yin to hurriedly drew his neck under his clothing.

No matter what, the outcome remained the same – he still felt cold all over and his breathing has now become laboured and harder.

This kind of cold chilled him to the bones. The devious wind seems to strive its hardest to find whatever hole it could and penetrate its way through Bai Luo Yin's cold body. Slowly and gradually, it tried to erode Bai Luo Yin's willpower.

When things in front of him began to be fuzzy and indistinct, alarm bells started ringing and pounding ceaselessly in his heart. He must not let himself faint. If he were to faint, he knew that he would be yanked out and thrown to the curb.
