Chapter One: Alexis's Story

     My name is Alexis. My last name, I cannot say. I have no actual home. The only people I can trust now are the people I travel with. These people are Twi, Starlight, Arch, Cameron, and Bse. We escaped on of Anti-G.U.N's laboratories in Station Square eight years ago. Ever since then, we have been running from place to place. I suppose you could say we are being hunted down by a government. The reason why? We're escaped test subjects from a government laboratory. You see, on this planet, we're seen as aliens though we are just like the humans that live here. Only differences are the height, species and home planet. Otherwise, we're just like them. Yet, they captured us and try to complete experiments with us as the test subjects.

              

               “She's colder than ice…..if she keeps freezing like this, she could die,” I whimpered, holding Starlight close in an attempt to warm her body. She had been struck in the back with a blast of ice when she pushed Bse out of the way of the bullet. I wrapped the scarf I was wearing around Starlight's arms. “Alexis?” Twi questioned, walking up beside me. “Yeah?” I asked.  “Should we leave her to Bse? I mean, it is because of him she's like this,” she answered. “What? Are you positively sure?!” I exclaimed. “Yes. It'd be best for him to care for Starlight until we get to a safer location….He has a bit more stamina and could carry her if we needed to run,” Twi replied. I sighed. “Okay. I'll let him take care of her….”

                             Twi walked off and signaled for Bse to come up to me. I don't really get why, considering I'm one of the youngest group members, why I'm mostly leading. I'd honestly expect for them to say Cameron or someone like him. Either way, I have to keep my group members safe and out of danger. “Bse, could you please take care of Star? Twi suggested you could. It'd be nice if we could wake her, but with the condition she's in right now, I'm not sure if we'd be able to do that. So, please, would you keep her safe?” I told him. Bse nodded his hedgehog ears flat against his head. “Alright. I kind of would enjoy that anyway…after what I did to her,” he replied. I faintly smiled and placed Starlight's unconscious body in his arms and put him in my trust.  “I'm gonna protect her with my own life after all we've been through together,” Bse stated, smiling.

            BOOM!!!  An explosion sounded over the horizon. My eyes were wide with fright. Cameron grabbed a hold of Twi's arm and took off running. “Alexis!! Bse!! Get Star and let's get out of here!!” he cried. Bse held the purple angel-fox in a somewhat bridal style and ran as fast as he could. I took off running.  

          Thud!! Thud!! Thud!! I could hear the troops running behind me. “Catch them!! Don't let the targets escape!!!” a man shouted. Swoop!! I felt someone pull me up into their arms. “Ah!! Let go!!” I screamed. “You're coming with me Mistress Alexis……time to go back to being an experiment,” a male voice boomed. “Noooooooooooo!!!!!!” I cried, struggling to break out of his grasp. “Hwah!!!”  He exclaimed, falling down and dropping me. Thankfully, my twin tails broke my fall. “Ah? Who did that?” I questioned. “Run. Now.” A familiar male voice instructed. Shocked, I nodded and did so. I soon caught up to the group. “Don't scare me like that!!” Cameron exclaimed, squeezing my arms to show he was upset with me. “A-Ah…Okay….just quit squeezing me so tight……” I squeaked.

                He sighed, shaking some water out of his hair like a dog. “I fell into a puddle of water. Ech….” He stated, clarifying his reason of doing that.  Twi laughed when she saw the expression I had on my face. “Ewww….You didn't need to shake it all over me,” I stated, disgusted. Cam laughed. “I enjoy messing with you.”

      I sighed, “Cam, I don't think I can take the burden of leading anymore….you are very level-headed. You wanna take over as leader?”
