"Here you go," Kalani says as she stands in the middle of the playground, handing out the wristbands for entry to the party. "See you there!"

I laugh as I watch what was just Kalani, Paige and me become a swarm of teenagers. The crowd begins to clear as Kalani hands out the last of the bands and we sit down on the wooden bench.

"Guys, I think the others are kinda mad we don't sit with them anymore" Paige fesses up as she takes a bite of her rather shiny apple.

Kalani just shrugs. "Well it isn't our fault they're lame."

"Yeah," I agree with Kalani, although I feel a little guilty. "They could always make more of an effort and maybe we'd sit with them".

Paige just goes quiet and decides that maybe she should pipe down for the time being.

"Hey guys," Nia says as she sits down in between Paige and me. Paige hugs her and begins talking about god knows what, and Kalani and me roll our eyes at each other without the other two seeing.

Kalani says that Nia is a back stabber. She says that she's only friends with us so that she can tell the others what we say about them. I guess I agree, but sometimes I just can't believe Nia, of all people, would do that.

I hear shouting behind me and turn round to see Jordyn shouting at a girl that sits near me in Chemistry.

"Isn't that Jordyn and Nina?" I ask, turning to Kalani, who nods awkwardly. "What do you think they're arguing about? I thought they were good friends?" I question again.

"I think I might know..." Kalani mutters. "I kind of, accidently, told Jordyn that Nina was bitching about her behind her back."

I look at Kalani in confusion, my eyes wide. "What?" I say, looking back over my shoulder at the fight.

Jordyn stands, some of her other friends cowered behind her, glaring at Nina. "Why the hell would you do that?" she shouts, a crowd gathering around them now.

"I-I didn't do anything" Nina stutters.

"You did, why can't you just own up to it?" Jordyn spits once again.

I see a tear fall from Nina's eye, her face threatening to break out into hysterics of crying and madness. I feel bad for her, she's a nice girl and I've never heard her even mention so much as a negative word towards anyone. Instead of fighting back, she just walks towards Jordyn and the others quickly, her head bobbed so as not to look them in the eye.

"What are you doing? Didn't you hear me? We don't want you here!" Jordyn screeches.

"I'm getting my bag!" Nina screams back as she reaches down and grabs her bag, then runs towards the toilets.

I turn back to Kalani, utterly confused about what I just witnessed to see her biting her lip and trying not to laugh.
