Amethyst walked to the beach briskly, a certain bubble tentatively floating above her hands. The crystal gems watched as she walked away, respecting her wishes to be allowed to do it on her own. Upon reaching a spot she deemed fit, she pressed the bubble gently, allowing it to pop and the gem encased within it to reform.

Jasper gasped hurriedly as she turned towards one of the gems that had led to her impromptu corruption. She roared in outrage, attempting to charge her but failing as she falls to her knees, uncharacteristically winded.

"What do you want runt? Here to kick me while I'm down!" Jasper spits at Amethyst.

"No, I'm here to help you," Amethyst whispered softly, standing still as she allowed Jasper to take in her surroundings.

"Help? Help!," Jasper screamed," All you Crystal nuisances ever do is try to help and look where it's left me!" she screamed, pointing to her tinted gem.

Amethyst flinched back slightly at Jasper's hard words but she kept her ground. She was determined to make right of a long standing wrong.

"Jasper, I'm sorry for whatever Rose did to your Diamond and how it affected you. I personally can't imagine how it felt when you were robbed of the person you were born to serve but I do know-" she started before being interrupted by Jasper's furious chants.

"No! You can't understand! My life was ruined the day your leader shattered my diamond. I was never able to rest, everyday spent fighting. I was made for a purpose and that purpose was taken right from under me because of what you did! Because of what she did," Jasper corrected, her frustrated screams turning into angered sobs as she slumps to her back.

Amethyst looks onto her in pity, sorry that she could never truly help Jasper. Although she did believe that she and Jasper had many things in common experience wise, she still had to admit that she was right. The pain that Jasper must've went through, ever since the day she immerged, was more (physically and possibly mentally) than what Amethyst had ever gone through. Seeing that at the moment it was a lost cause, she summoned her weapon, steeling her nerves to do what had to be done.

Jasper looked up briefly before slumping back into the sand.

"Just do it. You Crystal Gems aren't good for anything more than destroying those you see fit. Do what you have to. I knew you'd never be able to help me," Jasper said, sounding uncharacteristically vulnerable and distraught.

Hearing her words, Amethyst couldn't bring herself to poof her. The pain radiating from the other gem's voice convinced her that she had to keep trying, no matter what. She walked over to Jasper slowly but instead of raising her whip she raised her hand, a sign of peace.

"Jasper, you're right, I don't understand your pain," she said softly.

"I assumed as much," Jasper answered half-heartedly.

"But what I can do is help you," Amethyst continued, pausing to allow Jasper to interject.

"I already told you, you can't he-" she started, easing herself out of the sand but stopping when Amethyst raises her hand for quiet.

"I know what you're going to say but you're wrong. Jasper, you're not alone. All of us have had traumas that have made us feel like there's no point in going on but we continued. We allowed others to help us back up and onto the right path. I see your struggles and it reminds me of what I had to go through. Of what I do go through. Please, just let me help you," she said, pouring out her heart to the gem sat before her.

For a few moments there was complete silence. The only sounds that could be heard were the waves washing up against the shore a few meters away from them. Soon, Jasper broke the silence with a compliant huff, taking the hand offered to her.

Amethyst smiled happily, dragging Jasper into a hug. Jasper flinches in shock but allows the smaller gem to hug her. She enjoyed the foreign feeling.

"I swear runt if you try anything-"she started but stopped when Amethyst looked up at her with a teary smile.

"Don't worry. I won't try anything and I Will help you."

"And Jasper."

"What?"

"I'll be the one to stay."

There was then a sudden bright glow and a chorus of gasps from the spectating crystal gems.

Yes, it is a little odd and maybe a bit OoC (sorry I tried my best to keep them as in character as possible). Yes, it is still quite short but I did genuinely like writing this one. It was just different from everything that I have written before and I just love that.

Anyway, until next time (which is hopefully next week).
