1. The new arrival in Mystic Falls

"Ha ha Jenna" Elena laughed as she watched her aunt Jenna walk out the kitchen to answer the door.

"Jenna? Who is it? Jenna?" Elena asked as she walked out the kitchen to find her aunt.

"Elena?" Jenna asked confused. Stood at the door was a girl who looked exactly like Elena except her hair was curly and put up loosely in a ponytail and it kept falling over her face.

"Hi, I'm Alissa" the girl said with a slight Texan accent.

"Is Miranda here?" The girl questioned. Jenna and Elena's face just showed shock, partly because of how much she looked like Elena and partly because she didn't know about Elena's parents.

"You don't know?"Jenna asked. Confused.

"Know what?" Asked the girl. Elena stood next to Jenna.

"A few months ago my parents car drove off Wickery Bridge, I got out of the car, but they didn't." Elena said tears in her eyes. Then her eyes shot up to Alissa who looked absolutely shocked.

"I'm sorry" She said looking at Elena.

"Its fine." Elena said quickly to stop herself from crying.

"Come in, make yourself at home" Elena said making the girl feel welcome.

"Thanks. Elena?" The girl asked.

"Um. Yeah." Elena said.

"So" Jenna said trying to make it less awkward.

"How are you related to Elena, Alissa? " Jenna asked her.

"I was adopted, and I searched for my birth parents but I couldn't find anything. So I kinda just gave up. But, then my dad died, then my mother so I was looking at my family tree online and I found you. So I guess I'm Elena's... cousin?" Alissa told them unsure.

"Okay, then I guess you need somewhere to sleep, follow me we got school in the morning. You'll probably need to enrol at Mystic Falls High." Elena told her.

"Okay." She said as she helped Elena get some sheets out and make her bed in the spare room.

"Thank you Elena" The girl said to her. Elena just smiled a sympathetic smile.
