"But papa! We can't leave home now! We have to catch those monsters!"

"No objections, Nahomu. You will make our village proud in Konoha."

"Mohazu-san! Say something! We can't leave!"

"Hai, papa. We will make our village proud if it costs us our lives."

Mohazu's words left Nahomu in tears. The youngest, Ciataru, was silently tugging on Nahomu's kimono sleeves.

"Don't cry, Nahomu-san. I hear there will be cookies in the carriage."

Nahomu ruffled her younger sister's short hair and let out a laugh void of emotion. "You always loved sweets." Inside, she thought, my sister is so innocent.

"My daughters, I love you all. I understand how difficult it is for you to leave home, especially at a time such as this. I only hope you find a good life for yourself there."

With that, he sent they out of the room to pack. They went to their shared room. Mohazu, normally the cold, silent girl of the three, was eager to leave home. Nahomu couldn't start packing. Each time she tried, a tear fell from her youthful face. Ciataru packed her sister's bag after packing her own.

After packing, they laid in their separate beds for the night. Only two of the girls slept.

"Lady Tsunade!"

The Hokage was drinking sake as she filled out paperwork robotically. Her head snapped up.

"Oh yes, what is it?"

"Our reports have indicated that the Shinobi from the Village Hidden in the Daisyfield have started their journey. They will be here within the week."

"Is that all?"

"Feudal Lord Hunare gives you many thanks for taking care of his daughters while he investigates the crime."

"Remind me what ninja skills do these three have again?"

"All Shinobi from Wakabunaji, the Village Hidden in the Daisyfield, have abilities in Genjutsu or become Medical Ninja specialized in herbs. The eldest daughter, Mohazu Hunare, is a Medical Ninja. The second eldest and the youngest daughter use Genjutsu."

"Arigato. That will be all."

The ninja, an Anbu, left while Tsunade pondered his words.

Inside the carriage the afternoon of leaving Waka, the girls were having a jolly time giggling to stories that their childhood friend, Bushino, was telling them.

"—and so then I told him, 'Oh, sir, this is your apple? I wasn't aware after paying for it with my coin that the item I buy belongs to you.' At that, I munched on the apple and hot walked away, his face red in embarrassment!"

"Oh Bushino! You get into so much trouble with your words. Someday, you'll have a black eye to match."

"Perhaps Lady Nahomu, but I got my apple!" he said with a cheeky grin.

"You should be careful, Bushino. Father has a distaste for your antics," Mohazu warned.

"Oh Mohazu-sama! Lighten up, will you? I think it's quite funny," Ciataru giggled.

"No no, Lady Ciataru, your sister is quite right. Everyone should be as grouchy as she is," he said with a closed-eye smile.

Mohazu gaped at Bushino. "Take that back this instant! I'll have you know that—!"

She was cut off. "My my, what a temper! I didn't think a lady such as yourself would have one." Bushino winced as he was smacked in the arm. "Hey hey! No touching the merchandise!"

"Get a room, you two. Preferably without me in it," Nahomu rolled her eyes.

Mohazu smacked her sister and then went back to arguing with Bushino.

Nahomu sighed and Ciataru giggled as their elder sister and their childhood friend fought back and forth playfully.

The sisters arrived at Konoha safely.

"Wow! Mohazu-sama! Look at those faces in the rocks! Who are they?" Ciataru exclaimed in wonderment.

"Cia-chun, those are the previous Hokage of the village. You need to treat them with respect."

"I believe this is where I take my leave. Take care, Lady Mohazu. Lady Nahomu. Lady Ciataru."

"Why must you go back, Bushino?" Nahomu started to weep at the thought of leaving her old life behind.

Bushino hugged Nahomu. "There there, Lady Nahomu. Don't you cry. I must take care of your father now. I'll be back soon. If you get lonely without me, I'll be there in your heart."

"But... But... What about the war?" Ciataru squeaked.

"Don't die, Bushino. Our hearts can't take it, especially Nahomu's. I don't want to have to deal with a blubbering Nahomu for weeks and months on end because of your carelessness."

"Oh Mohazu-san! You would be the one to blubber!"

"Shut it, you!"

Bushino laughed, "I promise you ladies, I will not die. I have a reason to live, and that is to protect you."

With a nod, the sisters bid their farewell and headed to the office of Tsunade the Hokage.
