Hey guys! Alexa is here with a tutorial on hair edits! I suggest using Photo layers (I think that it isn't on the apps chapter. This app is also good.) and a background eraser app for this. You can only do this with cartoon or anime characters because if you use real-life people you'll have a hard time erasing the hair. Believe me. I've tried.

I'll use Ruby Rose from RWBY for this. 

You can find anime or cartoon characters anywhere, and if you don't manage to find a PNG, just erase.

I've erased the background of Ruby, and you can use it anytime. Just credit me, please.

If it is not PNG, just tell me. I will figure out a way to enable you to use it.

Anyway search for suitable hair styles you want. The hair style has to match the color of her hair otherwise it would look strange. Here's an example.

Ruby has a bit of red highlights in her hair, so I picked this. You have to erase it in order to style Ruby's hair. This is the outcome.

Again, free to use it! Just credit me.

Open up PhotoLayers and choose a background. I recommend shades of pink would suit Ruby.

Remember to crop it to 1:1 if you are using this as an icon!  Well, I am.

Click on Add Photo and choose your hair style.

For now, position it where ever you want. Then, add your PNG of a character.

Then, position it so that your character is wearing a ponytail. You can make it look however you want, though.

Since the color of the hair is too bright for Ruby, turn down the brightness so you get this.

There. It matches perfectly. If you need a lighter color, turn the brightness up. The color settings are found in the Color section.

Do your final changes. Adjust it or add anything you want, like borders or words. I'm just going to keep it simple.

Save.

And tada! You will have a wonderful hair edit!
