What feels like hours later, I wake, teetering on the edge of consciousness. Finally I open my eyes, to find my surroundings blurry. I blink a few times to clear my eyes, and after a few attempts they do. Slowly I get up and feel a throbbing in my head. I groan as I feel a pounding against my head. Gingerly, I lift up my hand to survey my head, I find a rather large bump at the point of impact. It should heal in time.
That's when I realise, what hit me. Suddenly alarmed, I look around and only see darkness. My head begins to pound even harder, making me feel so sick, that I lean over and vomit.
"I'm so sorry, I thought you were one of those creatures, I didn't know you were like me." a voice comes out of the black that envelopes me. I try to get up, but when on my feet I loose my balance. I expect to come crashing to the floor, but hard hands wrap around me, holding me off. I am teetering on the edge of consciousness again, I don't want to,go again, and become extremely vulnerable.
"who are you?" I ask, my words slurring because of my mental state.
"I'm Noah, Noah Samson. I'm really sorry I hit you. Here," he says "you lay here and rest for a while. I'll stay guard." Gently, he slides me onto a lumpy mattress. I moan as my head lands on the pillow. I don't know whether to trust this, Noah, guy. I really want to ask him more questions, but I am too far gone.
In my last moments of clear thought, I decide to trust him, and ask him questions as soon as I wake up.
