I turned around to face my attacker. Ready to jump on them if they dared come near me. Just as I was about to land the first blow, I stopped myself. I turned to face a girl, about the same age as me. She had short blond hair and bright blue eyes. She looked odd in comparison to me with my long, dark brown hair and green eyes. She stood there, looking half bewildered and half scared. I'm sure i mirrored the same expression.

"Who are you?" She asked in a shaky voice.

"Alice. Who are you? And where am I?" I demanded.

"I am Sarah. And I don't know where we are, I was going to ask you the same thing.

Sarah! I thought, this was the girl who had written the diary. I would have thought she was older, but I can only estimate her age to be around the same as mine maybe even younger.

"How did you get here?" I asked, with a harsher tone than I would have liked.

"I don't know, I just woke up here, well, when I say here i mean downstairs, than i was brought up here. Did they assign you this room too?" she replied somewhat unfazed by the tone of my voice.

"No, i walked up here by myself. But enough of that. Who are "they". I mean are they human like us?" I asked her, stepping toward her eagerly.

"No, I don't think so. I mean, I don't know who or what they are, they kind of just turned up it of the blue" she replies, shifting between each foot as if she is uncomfortable by my presence.

"ok, well I think I might go have a look around and find out what has happened here".With that I walk towards the door. I don't glance back, but I feel her eyes burning into my back. Just as I grab the doorknob she speaks.

"no" she half shouts "no, don't its not safe"

"I'll be fine, Nothing out there can hurt me" I say as i walk out the door.

I was wrong.
