Chapter four
*Zara*
I looked around our circle, trying not to groan as Everett pressed kisses along Carter's neck. Sure, I was happy for them, but when I had three couples sitting around me, I seemed to forget about their individual happiness, something selfish I was ashamed of.
"Hey, you alright?" Carter asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just didn't sleep last night. Dad was playing his heavy metal music again."
"So, I gotta go now" Luke said, standing up. "You know, I need to go buy something from the cafeteria."
I watched him leave, letting him walk a few metres before looking over at Charlotte, seeing her nod, taking it as permission to run after him. When I caught up to him, I spun him around, gripping his shoulder. "Luke, you need to tell her."
"Tell who what?" He asked, confused.
I rolled my eyes. "Charlotte. Tell her that you're gay. Because you're only leading her on. It'll hurt her more if you break up with her later, telling her that you have a boyfriend. I mean, I'm guessing Aaron isn't your boyfriend. Yet."
"How do you even know any of that?" He asked, biting his lip. "Look, I can't tell her. What's the point? I do like Charlotte, but I like Aaron more. The problem is that Aaron doesn't like me."
"And did you ask him?"
He shook his head. "No, but-"
"From what I've seen, not that it's much, Aaron likes you too, Luke" I said, smiling softly. "Trust me. Everyone I know is dating because of me. Here's the thing, either way, you can't lead Charlotte on like this."
He frowned, rubbing at his eyes. "I know, it's just hard. What should I do?"
"Well, maybe you should actually ask Aaron if he likes you" I suggested. "But first, you need to tell Charlotte. Because if you tell her after you start dating Aaron, you'll crush her. And then, you get with Aaron."
He nodded. "Thanks, Zara. You're right, I should go tell her now."
"Fuck, I'll bring the ice cream" I said, rolling my eyes, watching him run off back towards the group. "Fuck my life."

Next thing I knew, Charlotte was pressed against my left side, crying into my shoulder, letting out occasional sniffs. "Why did he leave me? I gave him fucking everything."
"Probably because he's gay" I said, shrugging. "If he wasn't gay, he'd probably be super into you. The fact that you even managed to date a gay guy is pretty impressive."
She nodded, removing her head from my shoulder and staring up at me in awe. "You're right, I'm sexy. Even gay people wouldn't mind a piece of this."
"Are you guys done?" Mr Smith asked us during modern history.
Charlotte nodded, peeling her body off mine and sitting back in her own chair. "Sorry, sir, my boyfriend just broke up with me. But it's alright, it was because he's gay. So it's not my fault."
Jeremy scoffed. "You probably turned him gay."
I rolled my eyes. "Wow, you're so original, Jeremy. Where'd you find that joke, 1955?"
"Hey, at least I can get dates" he replied, frowning.
I nodded. "Yes, if there's one thing you do better than me, it's picking up guys. You just really know how to make them all whip out their dicks, don't you?"
"Shut up, that's not what I meant" he said, glaring at me. "Your jokes are shitty, and Hayden will prove that you're a whore. Take it away, Hayden."
