Chapter 30

"So, you're saying you would rather be with Ricky than me?" Connor questioned me with anger.

"No, he's ju-" I got cut off by Connor.

"I know what the hell you are saying god damnit!" He stood up closer to me,"You just like Ricky more because you've known Ricky longer than me! Enough! Why the hell did I even bother to be your willing boyfriend?!" I stuttered but decided to say nothing more. Connor sighed,"It is over. I've had enough."

I ran out the door and ran to my house hopefully not colliding to anyone.

My face is very sweaty so I grabbed my blanket on my side and wiped it against my hot face,"At least that was all a dream." I sighed to myself.

I got up and did the usual routine to get ready for school. As I was grabbing my backpack, my phone began to buzz in my deep pocket. I picked it up and answered.

"Hello." I said.

"Hey it's Ricky." Ricky said on the other line. I smiled at the thought of talking to him. He had a small sickening voice,"I will be able to go to school today!"

"Yay! That's good for you!"

"And did you know Jc is off the wheelchair? That's awesome, but it seems like I'll be taking his place," he made a faint laugh,"But actually I'll be having crutches."

"Hey, as long as your fine." I grabbed my backpack and opened the door with my free hand for me and Sam to walk out.

"Yea," there was a silent pause,"I had a dream, Paulina."

I questioned him while pushing Sam in front of me for walking to slow,"And?"

Ricky sighed,"It was about you and Connor breaking up. I guess Connor got real mad at me and he punched me. I didn't want to punch him back so I stood there feeling pain punch through my veins. But it was weird. Connor doesn't seem that violent."

All I could say was,"oh."

"Paulina, does he hurt you?"

"No! He's not like that Ricky!"

"Oh. . . I was just wondering."

I crossed the street towards my school,"See you at school Ricky."

"See you to. Bye."

He hung up and I walked with Sam to the gate. I walked in and found Connor at the regular tree. I explained to him what happened yesterday and he understood. We walked for a bit around the school and I tried to stay away from Samantha as possible as I could.

"Can I take you somewhere on Friday after school?" Connor turned to me.

I confusingly said,"Yes."

The rest of the weekend went really good and I was able to see Ricky a couple times to say hi and see how he was. He was getting better than expected. Thank god for that.

Friday

It's after school now, Connor hasn't told me shit about where were going. All he said was it's about 10 minutes away. I didn't question anything so I rolled with the surprise. We passed by so many homeless people I wonder what they did to deserve this pity. I just wanted to give them Connor's car.

Wait.

That wouldn't be right.

Anyways, we stopped next to a pretty high building.

"Just follow me." Connor smiled unbuckling his seatbelt and walking out the car door. I did the same and followed Connor up to an abandoned building. We walked up stairs and stairs and stairs. There were mouses squeaking at us and cats hissing. We ignored them and I found myself at the very top of the building staring at the sky. The patio on the top had a table and a couple cameras with chairs.

"Did you put this stuff up before I came?" I asked Connor walking up to the canon cameras.

"Yea. This is where I go whenever, you know tough times happen. I record videos up here so I can watch them again just to remember what I did wrong to change it. Or what I did right." Connor smiled looking up to the sky,"And this place holds a very great view."

"Then what brings us up here?"

"I came here to shoot a video with you because it was the right thing to pick you as my girlfriend." Connor smiled brightly and I hugged him not letting go.
