Chapter 1:

I remember the day that changed everything perfectly. Every little detail; still embedded in my mind. It was one of those days that would be viewed as one filled with melancholy. But to me, the grey skies represented beauty. Now don't think I'm some gothic depressed dude who views sunlight as bad, because that's not the case. I just liked the contrasting and different shades of grey in the sky that represented an abstract art piece.

Now you may start to wonder; why is this guy going on about the clouds? Well, I'll tell you why, if it wasn't so cloudy out it wouldn't have started raining-no-pouring. If this never happened then I wouldn't have ended up running inside for shelter and intruding Zayn and Robert's conversation.

"C'mon Zayn. Do you know how much money we'd make." Robert bribes.

"For the last time no, I won't do it."

And that's when I decided to open my big fat mouth.

"Do what?" I ask.

"The next mission." Rob turns to speak to me now.

"I'll do it." I suggest.

"I thought you were working on the Rodney case?"

"Finished it." I smile at him.

"And the money...?"

"I gave it to that children's hospital in that poor village about six miles away."

"That's my boy... Alright next mission goes to you. Troye will give you the details." He pats my back.

"And Zayn," Rob says. "Come with me."

He motions Zayn to follow him as he walks out of the room. As he leaves, Zayn gives me a small smile, as if he were thanking me. It makes me kind of worry what I just accepted.

"Hello." Jaela says, popping up next to me.

"Hey." I reply halfheartedly, giving her one of those awkward side hugs as I continue to stare as the two men exit the room.

"Something wrong?"

"Hmm...oh, no...Zayn's just being all mysterious." I answer resulting in a little laugh from her.

"Isn't he always?"

"Yeah true...but I walked in on him refusing to be apart of a mission. I don't think he's ever refused. Anyways, I accepted it so I guess no harm no fowl." I shrug.

"What was the mission?" She questions.

"No idea actually, shall we go find out?"

"Why not? But by the way, if it's something horrible I'm going to laugh at you."

I playfully stick my tongue out at her and she shoves me to the side.

I hold the door open for her as we walk into the computer laboratory where Troye is typing away on his computer. I flicker the lights on and off to get his attention. He turns and smiles at us signing "Hello"

Troye was Deaf and the moment his parents found out they sent him away to live with his grandparents. He was fine with them for a while until both of them were in a crash due to a drunk driver. That's when he joined us; the misfits.

My sign language was rubbish next to Jaela's so I usually left that job to her when she was with me. I wasn't completely pathetic, at least I knew the language and could understand it.

"Louis needs the plans for the new mission." Jaela spoke as she signed.

He nodded and hit a key on his keyboard signaling the printer to start printing.

I grab the paper and skim through it. Nothing too serious that I think would offend Zayn. Basically, I needed to get close to a girl with a rich father. Piece of cake.

"So Zayn refused why...?" Jaela chimed in, peeking over my shoulder.

"I don't know, why don't you ask your boyfriend?" I joke poking her side.

"He's not my boyfriend." She says blushing.

"Yeah, but you wish." I crease the paper and shove it in my pocket.

"I'm not admitting to anything."

"Ahem..." We turn around to find Zayn standing there.

"Oh...hi Zayn. We didn't hear you come in."

Without replying to Jaela he hand a me a packet of papers.

"Rob wanted me to give you these profile identification sheets."

I flip to the first page to find a girl with brown hair and green eyes. She was around 18 and had a beautiful complexion and was overall very pretty.

If my assumptions are correct, then she was the one I needed to get close to.

I read her name aloud;

"Becca."
