Pain pulsed through Kiara's body and she groaned, trying to sit up.
"Don't try to get up Kiara," Áine rushed towards the bedside, "You'll only make the pain worse,"
"What happened? What happened after I was shot?" Kiara turned to her as her hand clutched her banaged wound.
"Ben took care of George. It's too bad he didn't show up earlier,"
"How bad is it?" Kiara gestured to the gunshot.
"It only grazed your internal organs thankfully," Áine smiled with relief, "You'll be okay eventually,"
"...Eventually?" Kiara breathed.
"I'm sorry Kiara, but you won't be able to fight for some time," Áine looked down sheepishly, "You risk internal bleeding,"
"So I'm done?.."***
"I still can't believe you were able to fight," Lucy said to Ben.
"Be amazed, I'm better than all of you," He smirked in response.
"I don't know Ben, you couldn't even lift a banana," Eoin raised an eyebrow.
"My strength comes back fast," The smugness never left Ben's face.
"It was still a bad idea to let you go," Jake folded his arms.
"I beat him, didn't I?" He moved his face incredibly close to Jake's.
"Are you sure you're okay Ben?" Dervla walked in, pushing him back from Jake.
"Of course I'm okay! Can't you see that-?" Ben suddenly collapsed, falling off the sofa.
"Is he okay?" Jake looked at him frantically.
"He's sleeping again," Dervla sighed.
"What?" Lucy furrowed her brows.
"He's gone back into coma," David walked in, "He regained his strength temporarily but he pushed himself too far,"
"Will he be asleep for another year?" Eoin asked him.
"Not exactly," David shrugged.
"- not as weak as you think!" Ben yelled, waking up, "What? How'd I get on the floor?"
"You fell asleep," Dervla helped him up.
"What? You're making that up-" He fell unconscious again.
"He's gonna keep coming in and out of consciousness," David told them.
"He's no good to us like this," Jake sighed.
"I'll get him back to bed," Dervla dragged him by the arm across the ground and towards the stairs, probably hitting his head a few times on the way.***
"So George has been taken care of?" Jack asked Cian and Aidan.
"Sir, yes sir," Cian nodded.
"Serves her right, stupid woman," Jack rolled his eyes.
"Sir we only have one day before the attack," Aidan said, "What are our orders?"
"Orders? There are no orders!" Jack gave him a funny look, "Do what the Hell you want,"
"Really?" Cian tilted his head.
"Yeah, just be back in time for the attack,"
"Yes sir," They said in unison before walking away.
Jack continued to stare off into the distance before he realized something.
"Dammit, I should've told them to bring me back a Frappe or something!"***
Eoin walked towards Elena who was sitting at the swing set.
"How are you feeling?" He asked her.
"How do you think I feel?" She said bitterly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Eoin took a step back, slightly shocked at her attitude.
"I almost died Eoin. If Molly and Lucy didn't show up, I'd be dead!"
"I'm sorry," He spluttered, "I didn't know it was going to happen but Ben woke up and then we-"
"I was attacked Eoin! You're supposed to have my back!" She yelled.
"I didn't know it was happening Elena, had I known I would've-"
"But you didn't know, because we don't spend enough time together," She glowered.
"What are you talking about, Elena? We're in the middle of a war!" Eoin's voice grew louder with frustration.
"I'm leaving Eoin," She sighed and glared at him, "And I'm not coming back,"
"..You can't be serious.." His eyes widdened, not expecting that.
"Bye," She simply stated and stormed off towards the forest, leaving Eoin alone, unable to react. Then he felt something bubbling inside of him. It had been so long since he got this feeling, almost two years. Rage. So much rage. When it hit him hard, he bolted down the lane.
"Eoin!" A horrified Jake seen him and ran after him, "Eoin! Where are you going?!"
Eoin stopped himself and slowly turned to Jake.
"Getting out of here," He growled.
"What... what are you talking about?"
"Shut up!" Eoin roared, "I don't want to be here anymore..."
"Eoin! ...I don't understand.." Jake shook his head, feeling completely lost.
"Of course you don't... how could you?" Eoin said quietly.
"Eoin, please. Tell me what happened," Jake went to move towards him.
"I don't care about you or Crawley or any of this," He sighed, "It's not my battle,"
"Eoin, we're all friends!"
"No, you're all friends! I'm just the reject minion who screws up everything,"
"Eoin we're in a critical state! If you leave now, we are dead!" Jake was getting desperate.
"I am leaving.. I'm sorry,"
"..Is there nothing I can do?" Jake asked slowly.
"No... goodbye Jake," Eoin said sadly and walked on.***
"I do not want any part of this plan," Kasey told Campbell firmly.
"If The Shadows lives he will grow stronger and wipe us out," Campbell told her.
"I don't believe that," She snorted.
"Your ignorance will get the best of you Kasey," Campbell narrowed his eyes at her.
"Shut up Campbell. It goes against Ronan's plan," She folded her arms.
"I don't need your help, but you'll want to be a part of this,"
"My answer is still no," She spat.
"Ugh fine, don't listen to me but not a word of this to Ronan,"
"Whatever," Kasey waved her hand dismissively and walked away, ultimately pissing off Campbell. He followed her back to Ronan and they both bowed to him.
"My Lord, we are the only three left," Kasey said once they had risen.
"Don't listen to Kasey my Lord," Campbell cut her off, "We were the only three that mattered anyway,"
"I know," Ronan gave a low chuckle, "Do you really think I'd send a helpless girl to do my bidding? Or a businessman?"
"Please," Campbell nodded, "Do elaborate,"
"Karen got rid of both Elena and Eoin without killing them,"
"Eoin is gone?" Kasey said.
"Oh yes, he's left and Crawley has been gone for quite some time," Ronan grinned, "They are completely exposed,"***
Jake waited outside the house and it wasn't long before David arrived back from the fort.
"There's no activity at the border up there," He informed him.
"You should stay up there though, just in case," Jake said, "I'm sure the Trees are going to start their attack from there. There aren't as many barriers in their way from that direction,"
"Sure," David nodded and backed away, then turning to go back to where he had come from.
"Oh and David? Have you seen Aoibhín anywhere?" Jake asked, causing David to stop in his tracks.
"No... I haven't," He looked back to him, and then continued on his way.***
Molly and Lucy had gotten near to the enemy base but they found nothing there. Suddenly, a cloaked figure emerged from the trees.
"Well, look who it is," They smirked under their mask. Molly got scared and couldn't even yell. Lucy on the other hand, got brave and basically got ready to sprint at him, "I don't need to discuss anything with you two," A vast amount of dark matter rose from the ground and up to Campbell's hands, "This is going to be easy,"***
In a far away forest, Crawley eventually came to a clearing. There was a large oak tree with a large sword stuck within its bark. He immediately recognized it. It was the High King's Sword. Patrick's sword.
"What's that doing here?" He said to himself, going towards the tree and trying to get the sword out. He tried time and time again, but he was unable to pry it out, "This can't be a good sign if Patrick isn't around to get his own sword out. I really need to get back soon.."
"Don't give up Crawley," A calm voice said.
"Is that...?" Crawley was certain they sounded familiar.
"Yes Crawley, it's me,"
"...Cody.."
