If someone told me a few years ago
"Marcel, you'll meet your soulmate someday" I would never have believed them, and laughed in their face.

Everyone always told me that I'd meet the perfect guy. That he was waiting for me. That I'd know who it was when I met him.

I never believed them. I met numerous guys, all of them too boring or not my type. I knew I'd never meet him.

That was, until I actually did.

His name was Arlan, and he was all I'd ever needed. All I still need. He's all that really means anything to me anymore (other than my friends of course)

I met him at a gaming convention (no surprise there), he had walked over to me and held out his hand. All he had said was
"Hola, mi amor, mi nombre es Arlan. ¿Usted está?" (Hello, sweetheart, my name is Arlan. You are?)

Knowing a small bit of Spanish, I had just blushed and mumbled out my name. He had smiled at me and held out his hand. I had taken it and we shook hands.

He didn't let go of my hand that day and we had stayed together for the rest of the convention. When it was time for both of us to leave, he asked for my number and I gave him my phone to put in his number, I also gave him mine.

We stayed together for a few more years, and are still together to this day.

And now, if someone were to tell me a few years ago, that I'd meet the love of my life and that we'd be together forever, I might just have believed them.
