Say hi to Kai ^^^
Three
When I was just a little teenager, my wild side wanted to come out like a volcano exploding from holding the lava in for so long. I'd hold in my anticipation not to do anything sketchy, but growing up in a house with no order changed my ways. Yes, I missed those times. The times where being wild and free was nothing but a way to express your happiness even when the world didn't want you to be as free as I was. Maybe I'm just rambling. Maybe I was just stuck in my head. Remembering the past was my only way to sanity because it reminded me that I didn't have to repeat those mistakes over and over to understand the mistakes I'm making now. Along with my wild side, adventure was a constant thing in our lives. Now we had to worry about how much money we needed to save until the next paycheck came flying in. Although I was down in the dumps somewhere in my interesting head, Fiona, my ex coworker, usually found a way to make things fun during most Saturdays each month. She was like a break from the hardships other than smoking weed with the nuns.
Fiona dialed me up one quiet night in the great city of San Francisco after I completed a marathon of the show, Friends. It was one of those episodes where Rachel and Ross couldn't decide if they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Things seemed to only get in their way of true love. Perhaps it's a message that some perfectly structured relationships can't have it all. I followed Fiona into her shady-looking car, and sat silently while I peered out the window, throwing glances her way every time she sang a song weirdly. I asked her why she had me leave my house to join her on this midnight crusade, though she dodged the question faster than how Kanye West fell off his throne. Once the music she was singing came to an immediate stop, she lowered the volume to talk about something serious. But Fiona gave me this creepy smile. No, a smile more mischievous than the kids at home.
"What?" I shrugged, unsure if she was getting ready to stab me or not. I frowned in my seat.
Fiona smacked her tongue in a ghetto way, sending me in disbelief in what she was getting ready to say. "Guess who just got rehired today? I also found out she's sleeping with that hoe of a boss we have. What a setup."
Cracking my neck slightly, I conform inside the seat to settle the shakiness in my bones. I was trembling with anger as total backlash whipped my soul like a belt, beating it's treachery out with a strong force. My eyes leveled on Fiona firmly, as my mouth was halted at a stop. There was no way I got fired for her to come back for no reason. No, Betty got rehired for a reason. She was sleeping with Kenzie, and obviously that gave her special rights to walk right through that door again. A door of opportunity she never had to waste. Brows of mine furrowed at the words spilling from Fiona's mouth while I collected thoughts. Dangerous ones. After a few minutes of calming down, I rested my head back. Sighing, I spoke, "You've got to be kidding me right now."
Fiona chuckled lightly, trying not to make it apparent she was laughing at my reaction. "Oh honey, I wish I was. Heard her Jimmy Choo heels clicking against that clean ass floor. Next thing you know, the whole office is staring at her in surprised faces. Derpy faces at that." The car didn't stop as we pulled on a familiar highway. If I remember correctly, this highway was known for a terrible accident that ended up blowing up into a full murderous investigation case that was solved two years later. That was when I was thirteen, which during the time I obtained my first job ever. I shook my head, muttering to the dark window shield. The world was unfair to people, yeah it was something to never forget. That feeling of unfairness was what we created, what we bred. I might be thinking too deep into this, but understanding my situation was a lot easier than living it. I really needed that job despite my opinion on it. Fiona mentioned that Betty was at work now, probably with Monty doing the sacred acts. Ignoring her since annoyance got the best of me, we came to a brief stop in motion, and I found myself fixated on a building I left forever just a few days ago.
