"We got a call on Amy Carson."

An officer ran into Barns office. There is a woman on the phone."

The officer grabbed the receiver and handed to Barns.

"Hello this is Detective Barns, how can I help you?"

"Hi this is Joan Stapleton, I know where your girl is the one you've been looking for the past few months, Amy Carson."

"Okay where did you see Miss Carson?"

"A small cantina in Mexico Beach."

"And you know it was her for sure?"

"Yes I approached her and she confirmed."

"Who was she with?"

"That man you are looking for Jason, he has her."

Barns stood up from his desk it was the best lead they have had in months.

"Thank you Mrs. Stapleton we will keep in touch."

Barns hung up with Joan and then tried Michael....no answer. He decided to drive over to my place. Michael heard a frantic knock at the door.

"Michael...are you in there?"

Barns was concerned at the sight of Michael when he finally answered the door. He looked pale, thin, and beat down.

"What do you want Barns?"

"We got a lead on Amy."

Michael walked away from the door and sat on the couch.

Barns walked through the door the house was a mess. Michael had just gave up on life.

"Michael, please listen it's a very good lead. A woman called who spoke with Amy."

Michael looked up. "She spoke with her?"

"Yes, Jason still has her in Mexico. I have a team headed there and I talked to the Mexican police they are setting up a perimeter. I'm on my way to a helicopter now but wanted you to know before I left."

"I'm going with you."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

Michael got up and headed out the door to Barns car.

"I'm going."

With that they were off.
The flight was long but Michael focused on seeing me again and the excitement was building.

Jason took me back to the motel I sat wondering how long it would be before help came. If that woman was able to get someone here for me. I tried not to get myself worked up to make Jason suspicious. He seemed to be on edge for some reason. I was afraid if I provoked him he would take it out on me. Night came and still nothing. I let my hope begin to dwindle and laid down. The day was so emotional I was so tired. Jason had finally calmed down and laid next to me. I hated playing house with him but I didn't want to fight him now, especially if I was this close to being rescued. My eyes slowly closed and I felt myself fall into a deep sleep. I wasn't sure what time it was when I heard a loud voice.

"Jason Masters come out with your hands up."

I jumped out of bed almost losing my footing and ran to the window. Jason pulled me back with a hard yank.

"What have you done?" He looked at me like I betrayed him. I shook my head.

"Nothing."

He peaked out the window then he looked at me.

"What?"

I could see the scared look on his face. He grabbed my shoulders.

"Who did you talk to."

"Nobody I swear."

"I knew I should have kept you in the room."

He got up and paced the floor. I sat on the bed wanting to run for the door but Jason found his gun and I decided to stay put.

"Jason Masters you're surrounded. Come out with your hands up."

I could see many flashing lights they were here for me I would finally be free.
Jason could see the relief on my face and he raised his fist I flinched. The blow never came he knelt down on front of me. He looked into my eyes and then laid his head in my lap. I was confused and didn't know what to do.

What was he doing?

I laid my hand on his head.

"It's over Jason let's walk out of here."

He raised his head. "No, I can't."

"I know you don't want to go to jail but there's so many we will never get away."

"It's not jail that I'm afraid of...it's losing you that I'm afraid of."

I looked at him strange how could this man say this after what he's done to me?

"I have never known what love is Amy but with you I think I have it. I know that it didn't feel that way to you but I can't lose you."

"Jason, I don't understand you've hurt me." Tears ran down my dirty face. "I can't live like this anymore."

"Then we die here so we can be together."

"No, Jason, that's not what I want either. I need to be back with Michael."

He pulled me up. "No you'll never be with him again. You're mine."

"Please, Jason."

"We will go out there together and show them we will die together."

He pulled me to the door put me in front of him then opened the door.

"Let the girl go."

Jason looked around and could see cops everywhere. I could see snipers on the roof. The lights were so bright around us. Jason put the gun up to my head.

Michael got out of the car when he saw me come out. He was taken back by my appearance. My hair was short messy, I was dirty, and super thin. It broke his heart thinking of what I had been through. He ran up to the front of the police line. Barns tried to pull him back.

"AMY.."

It was hard to see but when I heard my name I know he was out there. My heart jump it had been so long since I had seen him. Jason heard him as well and pulled me close. It couldn't end this way I'm so close to being with Michael I can't die now.

There was a stand off and it was only going to end one way.

I heard two shots and we went down. Jason fell on top of me, he had been shot. I tried to crawl out from under him but he held onto me.

"Please Amy, don't leave me. I need you."

I broke his grip and crawled out getting up slowly and began to run towards the police cars. I heard another shot.

"AMY..."

I dropped to my knees..then another shot...I could see Michael running out of the lights. He fell down beside me looking me over. Jason had grabbed his gun and shot me in the back of the leg.

"You're okay, it's okay." he pulled me up in his strong arms. I held him close crying. I never thought I would get this moment again.

Police were running past us to arrest Jason. He looked at me with complete longing. I turned his gaze back to Michael and he gave me that sweet smile that I had missed.

I was home again.
