Chapter 18: Acting Odd

I walk through the door. "Logan?!" I call out.

"In the kitchen!" I go to find him making dinner.

"Hey, sorry I left so suddenly before, I had to choose a song for a new cover by the end of the day."

"It's fine. Are you ready for dinner?" I nod slowly, going to sit at the bench. That was not the reply I was expecting. What I was expecting was 'Couldn't it of waited till later?' or 'Why didn't you tell us that instead of just leaving?' but no.

"Here you go." He puts a plate of stir fry in front of me. Logan leaves the room in a rush and leaves me to eat alone. For once I don't 'shrug' what Logan did off. I eat my food, dump my plate in the sink then go upstairs and stand outside our bedroom door, looking in slowly. Logan was dressing in a suit. I walk in.

"What's with the suit?" I ask, folding my arms.

"Uh, I'm going out." He says hesitantly.

"Going out where?"

"For dinner... with the boys." I nod.

"Ok... have fun." I move out of the way so Logan can leave. Looking out the bedroom window I see him driving off in his car. That's odd. You would think that he would go in the same car as Kendall, James and Carlos, they do live next to each other pretty much. I sigh, feeling rather impatient. What to do, what to do. I would follow him but I'm not an obsessed girlfriend... am I? Maybe I'm over reacting with everything. Yet again, Logan doesn't usually act like this... does he? Maybe! Maybe I'm to focused on everything in my life that I haven't been paying enough attention to Logan! Maybe it's my fault! How long has it been since he left? I start to pace, feeling rather stressed. Breathe Melody. At times like these all you need is the one person who is always there for you from day one.

Mum.

I leave the house to go across the road to visit my mum. I could see the lights on in the lounge. When I first reach the house I stand outside the door. I hope this helps.

"Melody! How nice to see you!" Mum pulls me in the door after I knock, kissing me on the cheek. "What brings you over here tonight pumpkin?" If we were in public I would of scolded her for calling me that.

"I need to have a girl talk with you." I say in a hushed voice and she gives me a nod before pulling me upstairs to her bedroom. Mum closes the door and turns to face me.

"You're not pregnant are you?"

"What?! No! Of course not! It's nothing like that!" I wave my hands in front of me.

"Just checking. So what do you want to talk about?" I sit down on the bed.

"I'm worried about Logan. I mean... he's been acting...odd? I don't know, he just left to 'go out with the guys' before with out much of an excuse. But I can't blame him, I did to earlier today to." Mum join me on the bed.

"I think maybe you need to focus on your relationship a bit more sweetie. You've been working so hard lately, you need to spend some proper time with him like... doing a puzzle." She says with a smile and I cringe.

"A puzzle? Really?"

"It's better than watching a movie. It's social, movies are not."

"You've got a point. But do you really think he his out with the guys?" I ask.

"Maybe you should trust him. He trusted you with that whole Simon thing." Mum points out. "And if he's cheating: I never liked the boy." I laugh with my mum.

"Thank you Mum." I give her a hug. "One last thing."

"Yes?"

"Do you have an old puzzle that I could have?"
