Lost Future

Suga walked along the large pathway of the seemingly abandoned streets , wrapping the think coat further onto his body as he wanted to retain the warmness and not let it get lost to the cold winter night. Now you might be wondering why Suga was walking alone during a winter's night?  Well it was only a week ago , when he got a letter from his old classmate and volleyball player, Asahi , who was planning a 10 year reunion with the other volleyball players. 

He and Asahi always stayed in touch even after Suga left the country , they chatted as much as possible , catching up with eachother's lives even though they were far away. Suga hadn't managed to speak with anybody else since he went to college , yes their was always the minor Facebook comments and the annual " Happy Birthdays" , but other than that nothing. 

He hadn't even spoken to Daichi , which was odd , but they went to different colleges and both had such busy lives that they couldn't even find time to send a message daily , soon the messages came weekly , and then monthly , and then they were no more. It's been 6 years since the two ex- best friends had a proper conversation , and Suga was excited to finally see what the other had done with his life. 

He soon came to the desired location , it was a very antique restaurant , but it had great  memories attached to it , it was the same restaurant that they visited whenever they won or lost a big game. He smiled once again and rearranged himself before stepping into the warm room. 

He took off his heavy coat , and hanging it by another couple of coats which he assumed was his friend's and looked around , he didn't manage to see for long as he was almost immediately being suffocated by a bone crushing hug. He opened his squinting eyes and saw none other than Tanaka and Nishinoya hugging him from his sides and muttering some nonsense that he couldn't hear. 

Soon the two boys were pulled off of Suga's small body when Ukai smacked them against the head. The silver haired man laughed before punching both boys and giving them his biggest smile , he looked at them , they hadn't grown much since he saw them last , maybe an extra centimeter or so. He smirked at seeing a gold ring on Noya's slender fingers. 

He turned around and saw Asahi waiting awkwardly , Suga punched him hard in the stomach before bringing him to a bear hug , the other almost letting out chocked out grunts with a mixture of laughter , conflicted at being in pain or beyond happy that he finally reunited with his old friend. 

" So Asahi , when did you plan on telling me about the marriage ?"  Suga asked after breaking the hug and putting a sassy hand to his waist. " Oh! You noticed..." Suga laughed before punching him in the shoulder , congratulating him on his and Noya's marriage.  

They both made their way to the table and soon everybody greeted their friend , Hinata almost crying , though who could blame him , the ex-setter had completely stopped communicating once he left for college and things only worsened when he had to leave to Korea for work. But now he was there with them having a good time. 

But Suga felt as if he was missing someone , someone important , he looked around the table , everybody was there , ... , expect for...

The door suddenly opened to a chaotic looking Daichi , his coat half opened and his hat halfway down his face , he looked as if he was running due to his rapid breathing and red cheeks and nose. He soon took off the winter coat and hat placing it on floor neatly before heading over to the table where everybody had their attention on him. 

" I'm sorry I'm late .... I forgot how slow taxi's can be here." Daichi exasperated , everybody remained silent , sweat began to form as he awaited some sort of reaction from someone , and soon it all came to quick , loud greetings and strong arms wrapped around his body , almost being knocked over by everyone , expect for Suga who remained silently on the floor not knowing what to do or say to him when they distanced themselves so long ago.
