"Ugh" Daichi exasperated aloud for the umpteenth time that evening. His normal cool and well behaved exterior was slowly evaporating as the time went by in the large ball room. It wasn't news that when something big happened in a certain Kingdom that  the nearby ones would come have a night of celebration , filled with cheers and drinking. So when Daichi's Kingdom's Knights came back to their castle all in one piece after a successful battle , Daichi was already groaning to himself for the night to come.

After greeting about 100 people that were either royal blood , from the royal court or just plain rich money filled bastards that cared nothing about the poor in the fields that gave them the bread that they shared on their plates , Daichi just wanted to go into his room and sleep , distance himself from the royal life , and rather have a normal life. A life without fancy clothes , a life without having to assist his parents in royal gatherings , a life where he had to distance himself from others.

He was born into the Sawamura Royal family , a long line of very strong and capable leaders , wiling to do anything for their Kingdom , even if that meant death. Daichi believed in the same ways , if he had to go to war to protect his people than he would do it without a second thought , but he didn't quite share the same ideas as his ancestors , who believed in social differences determined by how much money they had , they never really cared for the poor with nothing to eat or a place to stay , and , wouldn't think twice about executing anyone who they thought  was against them. He wanted to change that once he stepped to thrown.

Daichi , unlike all the other princes that he has met , despised his social status. Being considered superior to everyone else was something that the man despised. Multiple times had he begged his maids to treat him by just his name and not by "Master" or "Your Highness". He also hated the fact that when he could sneak out of the castle and walk around the busy streets of the village that circled his home , people would run in fear , fear if they looked at their prince that they would be executed , fear of not being good enough to be in his presence , fear of how much power that he had.

Daichi shook his head , now was not the time to think like that.Looking at his parents who stood proud , dressed in fine silk and gold  , greeting with a smile their neighbor kingdoms that had traveled from a far just to congratulate their victory , but , in the future king's opinion this wasn't a celebration for the ones who fought , it was an exhibition of the riches that they earned from the Enemy Kingdom. Not a single soldier was their , expect for the general who stood with other chiefs in command. From the young man's perspective,  they were drinking away their sorrows , every glass of the purple tinted alcohol was a memory that they wanted to put away , if only for a night. Daichi looked away , being to cowardly to observe the sad image any longer.

"Mother , Father , may I please be excused?"  He asked politely , knowing that he was representing the whole Kingdom while in that room. His father looked down at his son and smirked " Son , just one more guest , and then , you may do as you please." The elder looked over at his wife who only giggled quietly and soon recovering her composer . Daichi nodded , slightly confused at his parents ways , but still , if all he had to do was shake a couple of hands , confirm that he indeed had grown since they have seen him last and receive some repeated advice on how to rule from some old elderly couple , to leave that place and continue out with his life , then he was more than willing to.

As soon as he placed himself in the confident posture that his father had taught him  since he could walk , it was announced the last guests had arrived.

They were the royal family of the Satou Kingdom , the Kingdom farthest from them. It was known to be quite pacific , rarely ever entering in conflicts , but when it was needed they were extremely strategic and well armed. Their current rulers were intelligent in which wars they  would finance and which they would ignore. It was ruled by the Sugawara's , known to be the fairest and kindest that have ever had the chance to step up to the thrown. It was also the first Kingdom that was ruled by two kings , and that the future heir was adopted. Daichi didn't know much about the heir , other that it was indeed a boy and that he was around his age. Also from hearing his maids speak , he was also known for being quite beautiful , an odd compliment for a male in Daichi's opinion but he didn't think much of it. Maybe if he was actually lucky they could share the same interests and escape the celebratory gathering by talking and getting to know eachother.
