Chapter Two

Chapter Two!

                Recap!

“I promise with all my heart that I will keep in contact with you no matter what. Promise me that all the cute kids here get adopted by good parents and don’t end up like me and have to live here until they are 16, it isn’t a bad thing but yeah, just promise me.” I reply tearing up again.

“Okay, I promise, now you better go now, Elsie looks like she is getting a bit impatient. Oh and that is her name by the way, Elise, I don’t know where I have heard the name before… but yeah, see ya’ kid, hopefully soon.” Jane ended her blabber with a little chuckle. I give her one last, quick hug, pick up my duffle bag and head out the door to my life as an adopted child.

Chapter Two!

As soon as I got into the car, Elsie drove off. As we were leaving I turned around and watched the orphanage disappear and watched the scenery change.

Elsie didn’t live in the same town, which was one of the saddest parts about being adopted by her. I didn’t even get a chance to say bye to my best friends Micki and Rohnan (Yes guys, but they were amazing, so what can I say?).  Elsie lived a few towns away from my home town.

Once we got to Elsie’s house I got the chills, something about it was creepy. I don’t know if it was because it was right next door to a cemetery or an abandoned warehouse (well it looks like it is an abandoned warehouse). The house is surrounded by rubbish, trees, shrubbery, and random nick nacks that Elsie must have collected throughout her life. But I must say the house was a great size. It was almost the same size of the orphanage, and it was for an old frail lady! Elsie was already at her front door waiting for me to get my things and to go inside.

As soon as I got to the door, Elsie went inside and I followed her into the house silently. She didn’t stop to let me know what the rooms were or anything, she just kept on walking. We walked through many hallways, past a lot of rooms and down a set of stairs into a basement where there was two other girls.

One of the girls kind of looked like me. Her hair was a few tints lighter then my honey coloured hair, she had green eyes though when I had an odd honey eye colour. Our hair reached our hips, or around out hips.  The other girl had a button nose, where as I have the mix between a pointy nose and a button nose. The other girl had short dark brown hair that did not reach her shoulders, in a pixie cut and she had striking blue eyes. All us girls had a few things in common though, of what I have gathered, is that we all have hour glass figures, high cheek bones and full lips. And we all looked like people who would be considered pretty.

After standing around a bit Elsie said: “This is where you are staying, I will be back soon.” And with that she was out the door, not forgetting to lock it.

I look around the room and everything was just awkward, or well it was for me. “What are you names?” I ask to make it less awkward.

They look at me weirdly and I just returned their looks with an expectant look. “Maree.” The girl who looked a bit like me finally said, as she sat down on a bed. “Leslie.” The second girl said.

I notice a third bed, so I put my bag on the end of it and sit on it. I look through my stuff and notice that I didn’t pack a book or anything.

I lie down on the bed after a while, put my hands behind my head and think about everything. I think that whatever reason Elsie has us here for isn’t good and I also think about how much my life has changed in the past twenty-four hours. My thoughts drift off to wondering, what will Micki and Rohnan think of me leaving without a goodbye and how am I going to keep in contact with Jane, I don’t have a mobile phone or access to the internet and I doubt Elsie will let me use her phone (if she has one) to call Jane.

After a few hours of thinking about everything, I drift into peaceful sleep.

P.s. sorry for the mistakes in the last chapter, I hope I got them all when I went through last night.

P.P.S. I updated it early because it was just sitting here... wanting to be uploaded.. and yelling, UPLOAD MEEEE!... so I did... :D The next chapter will be up next wenesday, Australian time, I'm not saying what state because I don't want any creepy stalkers looking for me... c:
