Part twelve

Mei

I crouch beneath the bush that is just now growing flowers. I know the wonder bros are looking for me.

I hear the soft sound of someone dragging fabric against fabric. I focus on the hearts beating.

The gift Ariel gave me is really useful.

"Yes Castiel?" I ask

"It isn't good to have powers from a witch." He says

"I know but it helps me." I say scanning the rest of the street.

"But you already have powers. You just done know how to use them." Castiel says.

I quickly turn to him, looking him in the eyes.

"What?" I ask my voice going horse.

"Come with me and I'll show you. Don't do what you are about to do." He says

"I need to do this. If I don't the world will end." I say looking back at the apartment across the street.

"If you do the world will end." He says trying to convince me.

"Either way I'm screwed." I say seeing the car pull up that is who I'm looking for.

"No. please. It can't end like this." He says showing true emotion.

"I'm sorry." I whisper

I slowly get up from my crouched position. I walk silently across the street, going over my plan again.

"LUCI!" I yell when I decide I'm ready.

"MEI! I looked for you all over the place. Why the hell did you leave in the first place?" Lucifer says walking over to me.

"I'll tell you all about it." I say.

I slowly close my eyes. When I open them I take a deep breath and use my gift.

My entire surrounding is moving slow. I could outrun a lion by walking.

I walk up to Luci.

"Dear Lucifer, I know that you truly did care about me. I know that I'm bound to you. I know that if you die I'll live but if I die you will die. I originally thought of coming back as a second chance. It isn't. I thought of it as a gift. The only gift I got was the chance to make things right. That is just what I'm going to do. Love, Meredith Peters."

I slide the notebook paper that I was reading off of into the pocket of Dean's leather jacket.

I walk back over to Castiel. I put my hand over his face. He starts to move at the same speed I am.

"I don't think it's best to make me watch this." He says once he realizes what it going on.

"I want to talk to you." I say.

"Begin." He say.

"Please read or tell the following to Dean and Sam. Dear Sam and Dean Winchester, I know that you were looking for me. I don't know if you know why you were looking for me. Lucifer wanted to know where I was but he couldn't get into my head. I didn't let him. I know you will regret that it had to happen this way. But it needed to be done. I'm sorry, Meredith Peters."

"I understand." He says.

"Do you want to know?" I ask

"No. " he says.

I nod my head and touch his forehead once again as I whisper my apologize to him.

Once that was done I walk back over to Lucifer. I look at his deteriorating face. I walk over to Sam and imagine Lucifer controlling his body.

"Mei, this is the right thing." I say to myself.

I put myself directly in front of Lucifer. I looked at my phone which said 2:20. It's almost time. It's almost over.

I went over what I had to do again in my head. I nervously looked down at my watch. Finally it's 2:22. I am ready.

"Per potentiam quae data est mihi a bonum eu Ariel , I Petri Meredith , detrimentum angeli fortitudine tua" I say throwing my hands in front of my face. (666th word)

I felt a warm light wash over me as I slowly remove my hands. I look around.

I'm in a forest. It's the forest that I went to every day when I was a kid. They cut it down.

Realization washes over me as I realize what I did. It was for the greater good.

I notice a pond to my left. I walk over to it.

I see Castiel! I can almost hear him. I lean close so that I don't miss a single word.

"Dean, she's dead." Castiel says.
