Around the wall were a male and a female. The woman was looking at a dead body on the ground while the male was hovering beside her, looking quite bored and tired.
The female was holding a tobacco pipe that actually was giving off bubbles instead of smoke while also holding a miniature magnifying glass in her other hand. The male was actually quite pale in skin color and had two fangs in place of his two lateral incisors. Alice backed up a bit when they started to talk, but not enough for the two to be completely out of sight.
"What now?" The woman said to herself, sighing loudly. The male stared at the other with distaste.
"Oh, I don't know. How about you release me?" He hissed, pointing to a chain on his foot that Alice did not notice until now.
"I can't." The woman put simply "You're a crucial suspect to this case."
"Just because I'm a vampire and I suck blood doesn't mean I am related to every murder crime scene you find!" The male snarled, eyes twitching.
"Oh look an ID!" The woman said excitedly, completely ignoring the vampire. She picked it up and examined it while the guy was trying to escape using sheer force, which Alice found stupid since he could've just mind controlled the lady if he wanted to, from what her books told her. And the fact he could've escaped in so many other ways frustrated her to no end.
After a long annoying minute of him trying to break free, Alice couldn't take it anymore and blurted out "If you're a vampire, why can't you just turn into a bat and fly away?" The two turned to look at her as the vampire grinned unsettlingly.
"You know what? That's actually a good idea. I feel stupid to have forgotten about that. Urgh. Thanks anyway sweetheart." With that, he shifted and flew away much to the lady's aggravation.
"Oops...?" Alice smiled sheepishly as she glared her way. The lady groaned and threw the chain on the ground stomping her foot as more bubbles came out of the pipe. She sighed and stood up properly, trying to regain a sense of calm and collected-ness.
"Hello there" The woman put the pipe back in her coat and stuck out her hand in greeting, "Detective Reina at your service." She forced a smile on her face "So, you're the one who gave the smart idea for my suspect to escape?"
"Uhhh...."
"No matter! Since you so rudely ruined my lead, it's only fair that you have to do something for me!"Alice wondered about her logic when Reina shoved the ID card of the dead person in her face. She explained that she found out that the deceased had a few ties with a mechanic that specialized in futuristic technology and asked Alice if she would 'so kindly' go to his address as ask him a few questions while the detective would try to find the escaped vampire. Alice figured that as she had been procrastinating on her escape to her world she might as well do something until she found a better and safer way to leave then the idea that most likely would end with death that Cassandra suggested.
After taking the ID card from Reina, Alice started her journey to find the mechanic who was apparently called Calvin.
She had already passed the inn she slept at yesterday and bar, where she had to once again ducked from incoming furniture and beer bottles that were flying out from inside, followed by the distant yelling in the background.
"Alice?" The teenager turned around at the familiar voice.
"Cali!! Cassandra!" Alice smiled and waved "What are you guys doing here?"
"Well, we were helping our friend Kayla to fix her house as it was spray painted by some random dude. Also had to fix the map she and her sister Nora put up cause it was burnt down to ashes again. So we went to go get some extra wooden boards when we bumped into you." Cali summarized. Alice snorted at the convenience of it all.
