Chapter 3: The Police

I was explaining what had happened to the lady on the phone when she interrupted me and said that the officers were outside and would let themselves in. I thanked her for all her help and then hang up. I heard a knock on the door "It's the police we're coming in" they announced. They entered "Malorie? Where are you it's the police!" they yelled. "I'm upstairs the last door to the left!" I replied. I could hear them coming up the stairs they then came to my room and opened the door. "Hello Malorie, you reported a break in?" they asked. "Yes." I confirmed. There were two officers, both fairly skinny but one was more muscular than the other. The muscular officer introduced them saying he was Officer Hale, he then introduced his colleague as Officer Davidson. Officer Davidson said he would go and secure the perimeter. Officer hale  began to ask some questions;

"How did you know someone was in the house?"

"I heard a crash and went to investigate."

"How do you know it was a person?"

"I saw a human figure with a shadow."

"Do you think they saw you when you were investigating?"

"I don't think so, I hid when I saw a shadow or figure."

Officer Davidson then re entered explaining that the perimeter was secured as we are the only ones in the house. They then continued to ask some more questions about the entire situation. After thorough questioning Officer Hale suggested that they investigate the house and make sure that nothing was stolen or damaged.
