Chpater 12 ( The time )

It had been two moons later, and when I woke up from a bad dream I noticed Frogkit was gone. I looked everywhere, in the warrior's den, the elder's den, medicine cat's den, the apprentice's den, and when I approached Darkstar's den, I noticed Darkstar was gone too. Then I began to panic, I leaped down and bolted back to the nursery.

" Scourge, if you want a fight, you'll get one." I growled to myself. I padded inside and curled up in my nest, restless. I slowly bgan to fall asleep.

I woke up to the gloomy forest. Yes!

But when I jerked around, my worst nightmare came to life. Scourge had Frogkit pinned down and another tom, massive dark brown tabby with a scar on his nose was snarling in Darkstar's face. Darkstar tried to wiggle free, but he was no match for the massive tabby.

" Let them go!" I yowled. The dark brown tabby looked up and smirked. Scourge looked up, still pinning Frogkit down with his claws.

" Well," The tabby spat. " Look who decided to show up. You know, it was me that wanted you to be evil. I saw passion in you, Winterstorm, and I was afraid you would turn loyal. Then I decided, why not take away everything your loyal too." He dug his long, cured claws deeper into Darkstar's fur.

" Let him go!" I begged him. I was shaking now, afraid and I knew this would happen. Now, it was. I stopped shaking and looked up at Scourge.

" You ruined my life." I spat at him. " Killed my brother, mind controlled my mother, and now you want to kill my kit and mate? If you do this, it will just bring me farther away from you. More hungry for revenge." The tabby smiled widely.

" That's the spirit we need!" He growled. " I am Tigerstar, and I will face you in battle. Scourge pin down the black tom." Scourge nodded and rose his claws.

I knew better. I launched myself at Scourge tackling him down. I rose and swiped at his check. The tom growled and stood back up, his fur on end.

" You saw me, I would have killed that kit!" He spat. I shook my head.

" You won't kill anymore cats in your day, Scourge." I bolted to Scourge and swiped my claws across his throat. Scourge gagged and collapsed onto the ground. Blood seeped from his throat onto the ground and he disappeared, into nothing. I nudged Frogkit up and glared at Tigerstar.

" Get off of him, or I will kill you too." Tigerstar hissed and leaped off of Darkstar and bolted farther into the dark forest. I sighed happily and rubbed my muzzle against Darkstar's.

" Lets go home," I mewed. I brushed my tail down Frogkit's flank. " All of us." I laded down with Frogkit next to me and Darkstar curled next to me also. Soon Darkstar disappeared, but Frogkit still hadn't yet.

" Frogkit, go to sleep and don't tell Ravenkit, or Sweetkit about this okay?" Frogkit nodded and slowly began to disappear. I sighed and fell back asleep.

I woke up to Sweetkit stirring and Ravenkit hissing in her ear. I purred and sat up.

" Mama?" Ravenkit mewed. " Where are you going?" He asked me. I sighed and touched my nose to his.

" I have to go speak to your father, I'll be right back." I promised him. I padded away and leaped to Darkstar's den to see the tom's blazing amber eyes looking at his paws.

" Darkstar?" The tom sat up at my voice and licked his chest fur.

" So Scourge is dead. Now can we live in peace?" He sighed. I shook my head, sadly.

" That dark tabby tom, Tigerstar said he wanted to battle me and sent Scourge for me. Im afraid we can't live in peace till he is dead also. We just have to pray to Starclan that I will have the heart to kill another cat." I sighed. Darksatr pressed his shoulder against mine, and licked my forehead.

" He killed cats, Winterstorm. You did the right thing by killing him." Darkstar sighed and rubbed his muzzle to mine.

" I'll protect you when this Tigerstar comes." Darkstar vowed to me. I rolled my eyes and flicked my tail.

" Oh yeah, you sure showed Tigerstar who was boos." I purred. Darkstar glared at me, but it soon softened and he purred.

" Why don't we see Frogkit, Sweetkit, and Ravenkit? They might be worried." I rolled my eyes, knowing they were fine but I let Darkstar be a good father and followed him to the nursery where Sweetkit, Frogkit, and Ravenkit were sleeping softly.

" Their fine." I purred. Rubyshine's kits, not five moons old were twitching and mewing in their sleep.

" You need to apprentice those three." I purred. " They are starting to get restless." Darkstar nodded and licked my ear.

" I will, now you get some rest, I take Lakepaw out today. And Winterstorm?" I looked up ears pricked.

" Don't leave me." He mewed. I nodded and laded down to sleep besides me three beloved kits.
