Winterpaw's wish

Chapter 13 ( she hates me? For that reason? )

" I'm going to kill you, Winterstorm. If not you, then the  cats you loved." I could hear Tigerstar's raspy voice and then I could hear the screech of a young cat. It was Ravenkit!

" Ravenkit!" I wailed. " Ravenkit!" I was sucked back into darkness.

I wailed opening my eyes. I looked around and sighed when I saw I was back in the Lightclan nursery. It had been two moons , today was Coguarpaw, Firepaw, and Mousepaw, and Dandelionpaw's warrior ceremony. I looked down at my three kits and licked Sweetkit's forehead.

Tigerstar had lurked in my dreams, more then Scourge had ever done. I couldn't help but shake at the thought of the dark tabby getting a hold on my kits, my sisters, or Darkstar. I looked out of the nursery to see that is was dawn, the pale light shone inside the nursery. I sat up slowly, leaving my kits sleeping soundly and padded out of the den to see Applepaw, Stormpaw, and their mentors Frostheart, and Eagletalon were waiting patiently. Applepaw, Stormpaw, and AShpaw had been made an apprentice two moons earlier, Ashpaw was training to be a medicine cat, and I couldn't be more proud of who his mentor was.

I saw my apprentice, Lakepaw yawning at the entrance of the apprentice;s den. I had spent most of my time with my apprentice, teaching her everything I knew that Darkstar had passed down to me. I had to say, she was growing into a fine warrior. Firepaw was besides her, pressing his fur against her's. Lakepaw looked up at me and seemed embarrassed. I purred and padded up to Frostheart.

" Dawn patrol?" I asked the deputy. She nodded, glancing at her apprentice Applepaw.

" Applepaw is so excited she can't stay in place!" Frostheart purred. " I think its because her little boyfriend is being made a warrior!" Frostheart purred.

" He's a friend!" Applepaw defended her self. I purred and licked her forehead.

" Its okay, the whole clan knows you like him by the way you follow him around. Only Frozenpaw doesn't know!" I purred. Applepaw looked at her paws.

" Is it really that obvious?" She whispered. I rolled my eyes and nudged her shoulder.

" Would you like me to watch the camp while your gone? Darkstar needs to sleep, we both know about the life he lost." I mewed. Darkstar had lost a life from a bought of green cough that had killed Tangletail, and Flowernose a moon ago. The clan still mourned their lost.

Frostheart narrowed her eyes, and she nodded. Yes, I was a queen but no cat could deny I would never die for anyone. Frostheart disappeared out of the camp, followed by Stormpaw, and Eagletalon. Applepaw glanced at me one more time and followed her patrol.

I looked at my paws, I was the only cat who knew, as well with Rosepool and Autumnbreeze that Darkstar was one his last life.

" Let all cats join here underneath the Skystone for a clan meeting!" It was sun high now and Darkstar had just called a meeting. Frogkit, and Sweetkit looked up from their play fight and Ravenkit sat besides me, watching with wide eyes.

" I'm going to be leader one day!" Ravenkit puffed. " Just like father!" I licked his ear.

" I'm sure you will, beloved. I'm sure you will." I mewed, eyes glowing. Dandelionpaw, Firepaw, Coguarpaw, and Mousepaw were at the front of the clearing heads high.

" Cats of Lightclan." Darkstar yowled. " Four cats will be named warriors today, in their honor of loyalty they have given to their clan." Mousepaw blinked and Firepaw puffed his chest higher. While Coguarpaw shrugged. Dandelionpaw's eyes gleamed brighter.

" I, Darkstar." The leader began. " Leader of Lightclan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentice, they have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code and I commend them as warriors in their turn. Coguarpaw, Firepaw, Dandelionpaw, and Mousepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, to protect and defend your clan ever at the cost of your lives?"
