Jasell's POV

I was at home with my aunt Jen and her daughter Nelly. "You girls want to go to the water park?" Aunt Jenny asked us. We both shoot up from our spots and nod eagerly. "Okay go get packed." She says and Nelly and I race up the stairs and pack things we need. I was done packing in under 10 minutes. "Dry clothes? Check. Sunscreen? Check. Sneakers? Check. Sunglasses? Check. That's all I need. Oh wait." I say as I grab my portable charger. "Portable charger?" Check." I say with a smile plastered on my face. I packed all my stuff in my bag and headed downstairs. "Ready?" Aunt Jen asks and we nod. With that we head out the door and got into the car. "What water park are we going to?" Nelly asks. "The one I used to take you to when you were little." Aunt Jen says and Nelly starts bouncing up and down. I just shake my head at the older girl and look out the window. "Aye Jasell, do you have any money to buy anything there?" Nelly asks me. I shake my head. "Nope." I say. She groans. Then she looked at her phone and started typing.

Nelly: Well I guess we have 2 do wat we always do

Me: No. Not there. That place is 2 big for us 2 b doing that in

Nelly: Oh come on cuz. U act like u haven't stole shit from a damn mall

Me: We might b caught this time

Nelly: There's a chance we might not either

Me: Fine. Just so u can shut the fuck up

I look at her and she gives me a smirk. If Nelly and I didn't have any money we would always steal what we wanted. She had been doing it all her life. I don't know how she got me into this shit. I swear if we get caught, I'm gonna kick her ass my damn self.

~Timeskip~

We finally get to the water park within an hour. I get out the car and stretch. I then grab my bag from the trunk. "Mom, Jasell and I are gonna go check out the stores." Nelly says pulling on my arm. "Okay. Meet me by the bar when you're done." Aunt Jen says walking away. Nelly pulls me into a pastel colored and black store. It was like my dreamland. I started to look around at stuff that I really liked. There was this pastel pink and black phone case that had a bunny on the back that had X's for eyes. I found it really cute and it fit my phone. "You want this?" Nelly asks. I nod. "Take it." Nelly whispers in my ear. I bite my bottom lip. I look around at the people to see that there weren't many in there. The phone case didn't have a alarm on it. I reached up and took it. I had to pretend I was reaching for it and my bag fell and all my things falling out of the bag. The case also hit the ground. I picked up everything hiding the case under a book I had brought and stuffing it in my bag. "Come on. I don't see anything I like in here." Nelly says out loud acting like nothing happened. I nod and we left the store. We made our way to another store. It looked like a electronic store that had phones and stuff in it. We walk in and once again I start to look around.
I was shocked when I looked around that there was no alarms on anything. 'What the fuck? What kind of business is these people tryna run?' I think to myself as I make my way to the headphone section. I saw Bluetooth earpods that I've been trying to get my hands on for months. They had pastel pink ones. 'Those would go great with that phone case.' I think as I reach for them and examine them. I look at Nelly and she nods. I do the exact same thing as I did in the other store. Again, we didn't get caught. "This isn't that bad, right?" Nelly says putting her arms around my shoulder. "No not really." I say as we make our way to a jewelry store. "Do you really think we should go in here? This one is a huge risk." I whisper to Nelly. "Oh little cousin, just do what you always do and you'll be fine." She says going deeper into the store. I sigh and go to look at the necklaces. There was a plain one. It was pretty much a thin gold chain. I wanted it. But unlike the other stores, this had an alarm on it. I just left it alone and looked around the rest of the store. "Come on Jasell." I hear Nelly call for me at the door. I make my way over to her and we walk out. "I saw you looking at that chain." She says. I nod. "Yeah. It had an alarm on it though." I say with a slight pout. "Well, I broke it and got it for you." She says showing it to me. I gasp and take it from her and put it in my bag then hug her. "Thank you!" I say. "You're welcome. Now let's go to the makeup shop over there." She says pointing to a store with pink lips on the top of it. We go inside and look around.
I was looking at the lip gloss and found a really cute one with a heart cap on it. The color was a pretty pink. I had to have it. The thing with stealing is, when you start you can't stop. Nelly and I found stealing as a way to have fun. Nobody knows we steal. I pick up the lip gloss and drop it right into my bag. The thing is that my bag was open and I had dropped it like it slipped from my hand. Nelly called for me and we were about to leave. When we were about to go on the outside a alarm went off. 'Shit.' I think to myself. I knew I was caught so I just pulled out the lip gloss and gave it to the officer. He looked pretty young. "What's your name?" He says pulling out a notepad. "Jasell Cooper. Age 15." I say. "So you're the Jasell Cooper the other officers have been talking about. Well missy this seems like the last things you are going to steal. What else do you have in that bag that you took?" He says putting his hand out to take the bag. I hand it to him. I wasn't worried because I took the tags off the stuff so it looked like I owned it. "Hmm, alright. Who are you here with?" He asks. "My aunt." I say crossing my arms. "Take me to her." He says. I nod and lead him to Aunt Jen at the bar. 'My ass is grass now.'
