The Other Gronkowski

Chapter 9

With a smile on my face and the thoughts of Julian in my head, I fell asleep to the sound of Sportscenter predicting how good we will be this year.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm and the smell of bacon. Lucky for me Rob always is up earlier to make me breakfast.

I quickly got out of bed, threw on some shorts and a tshirt (as I am only going to practice) and brushed my hair.

I ran down stairs and sat right down at the table to make sure I got some bacon before Rob ate it all. Sometimes I think that boy eats as much as the body weight of a 6 year old in a day.

"Hurry up J, we gotta get to practice early today so we can warm up more with Tom and Julian" Rob said while still chewing his food.

"Ok, I'm ready whenever you are. I just need a few more bites" I responded also with food in my mouth.

"Let's go then." Rob said clearing the plates from the table. I then got up and sprinted to the car, just in case he was gonna turn it into a race. Sometimes I think we are a little too competitive with each other.

We got to the stadium and pulled in the exact same time as someone else. We all got out of the our cars at the same time. And started heading in the building for a great practice.

"Hey Gronk twins, ready for some extra reps with me and Tom again?" Julian asked as we walked in together.

"Yeah definitely." Rob replied. "But first I have to go to the trainer. See you on the field sis" he added as he jogged away from us.

Wow we are already alone. I thought as Julian came a little closer to me now that Rob was gone. We then started walking again, but this time very close.

"Good to see you shorty" Julian whispered in my ear. I could feel his warmth on my neck. This man will truly be the death of me.

A smile crept on my face, but I didn't turn to look at him. I don't want him to see how much I like him yet.

"I'm looking forward to finishing what we started last night" he said as we entered the locker room.

"Me too" I responded, but still not fully looking at him. We continued to our lockers, which of course were next to each other.

Rob walked in soon after and started goofing around like always. At that point we were all dressed and decided to walk onto the field together.

We walked out of the locker room the three of us, and Julian low key hit my butt. I looked back and saw him wink. I blushed and thanked god that Rob did not catch that moment. Sometimes my brother can be so oblivious.

We went through practice and I scored a few touchdowns in drills, and out preformed all the receivers including Edelman at practice.

"Wow you are really improving shorty" Julian yelled across the field to me.

"What are you jealous that you might not be Brady's bestest friend this year?" I asked in a taunting way.

"In your dreams shorty" he replied winking at me. We went along with the act to make sure Rob didn't spot anything out of the ordinary.

Coach brought us in for a final huddle and pretty much did the usual talk. We had a good practice, blah blah blah, but we have to do better, blah blah blah. And yet again I had to stay after practice with Tom, my broski, and the guy I might be secretly dating.

Tom decided we should just go over to his house later and watch film the four of us, instead of staying on the field today.

"Ok see you guys at my house at 2:00" Tom said with a big smile. He really tries to be a people pleaser.

We started walking back to the locker room all together and Julian came up behind me and whispered "hopefully we can do more than just watch film today"

This will be a fun afternoon. I thought to myself as me and Rob drove back home to get ready for this afternoon.
