Chapter 4
The demon had showed me my dead body and told me that it was no longer me. My body’s skin was pure white and the eyes the same. He had cut a smile into my face and left me like that. He had severed my arms and legs and left me to bleed. The small shadow like creature had been there as well. He told me how my abilities worked and how too use them. He taught me how to be the perfect killer. He told me that I would stay this age, and look this way until my contract with the devil was complete. He told me where to start to find my killer then left. I headed toward the city. His name I didn’t know, his face I didn’t know. But I knew his voice, the way he walked, I knew little things that wouldn’t help much to find him. But my demonic friend gave me these abilities to find him. I am a siren, I lead men in too kill them where they stand but only one person can resist me, and thats my killer. As I ran in the night far away from the police sirens I thought of his voice. His deep dark almost demonically amazing voice. Did I just say amazing, I thought quickly? I brushed off the thought as I came to yet another ally. But something was there already. As I stepped closer to the object the smell of death washed over me. It was a body, freshly killed, maybe half and hour ago. I turned the girl onto her back and gasped. On her face, blood dripped from her mouth. Her lips had been cut into the sickly shape of a smile. Just like I was, I thought. He is close, he IS MINE, I thought as my mind raced with ways to get my revenge! I smelled the body quickly, her blood was sweet almost savory, I could follow that scent. No doubt her blood is splattered on him. I smelled the air and screeched louder than ever. He was close, not even a mile away. I ran, faster than a bullet, following the scent of blood. I ran into the dark woods and smelled again, he was near maybe 50 feet away. I focused, my blood began to flow and I looked like a normal girl. I ran at normal speeds in his direction.
“HELP! Someone help me,” I screamed! I ran faster, as if something was chasing me. I heard the crunch of leaves and stopped.
“Whatcha running from, huh little girl,” a voice asks? I knew the voice, I could never forget it.
“Nothing but... Will you sing for me,” I ask?
“Ha! Please, why on earth would I sing for you,” he asks? I turn to look at him. His face, was pure white, his eyelids were burnt, and a smile was sliced into his face. As I looked closer I realized that a tear was running down his snow white skin. The demon had told me this would happen, his eyes would become rivers of pain.
“Your tears of guilt disgust me,” I say as my skin returns to its snow white color and my eyes turn red. My nails turned tar black and grew to talon lengths. I charged at him and sliced his white hoodie open. His chest is white as well, I thought. “YOU KILLED MY FAMILY, THEN RIPPED ME TO PEICES,” I screamed, my voice shooting him across the woods. I ran faster than anything known to man to catch up to him. “My name was once Diana, but now it is SIREN’S SCREAM,” I screech. Blood began to drip from his ears as my voice rang in the air. He can’t touch me, I choose who can touch me. There is nothing he can do to stop his death, I thought as I charged him again. I ran right at him. Suddenly he raised his hand and caught me, by my throat.
“Do you know who I used to be, I used to be your best friend. You think I don’t recognise you Diana, its me Jeff,” he says. My eyes widen in disbelief.
“You are NOT Jeff, I can tell,” I yell!
“Yes I am Diana, I lived three houses down from you, with my mom and dad and Liu,” Jeff explained. I gasped at the realization. It was him, my best friend Jeff. I felt goose bumps run across my skin as I remembered the fact that I liked Jeff. No I loved him. I had cut myself so many times after I had heard his family had been murdered and he was missing. The one guy that could ever convince me to not hurt myself or beat myself up. Had ended up killing me.
“Please Jeff, let me down,” I say quietly. He lets go and softly lays me on the ground.
“I’m so sorry Diana, if I had recognized you that night; I could have stopped myself,” he says as tears streamed down his face. I run my hand across his face and wipe away the tears.
“Shhhhh, you stopped yourself now, thats all that counts,” I say as I run my fingers through his hair. I could see the real him now, he was covered in a shroud of death but I could bring out the real him.
“NO! I should have stopped myself, I knew it was you, I knew it was your family! I could have stopped myself but I hurt you, I swore I would never hurt you,” he yells as he beat the ground with his fists!
“JEFF, stop, please,” I ask as a tear slid down my face. He stops moving and lowers his face to mine. He nuzzles my face wiping away the tear. I nuzzle back into his warmth and feel my lips meet his.
