"Mabel?! Wendy?!" Dipper called, but there was no response. "Crap!" He spat.
He started to run around the house looking for the girls, calling out their names.
"Dipper!" He heard Mabel call from outside. Dipper ran into the backyard and looked around.
There was no one there.
"Mabel?!" He called again.
"Dipper!" Her voice came from above. Dipper looked up to see his sister hanging from the window on the top floor by her hood.
"Mabel!" His mind raced with thoughts. How could he save Mabel? Where was Wendy? Where was the ghosts body?
The body. He had to burn the body.
"Mabel, hold on!" He called up.
"Can't really!" She said back. Dipper ran inside and looked up at the ceiling. The boy fell through the upstairs floor and landed down on the first floor. So there should be new ceiling boards somewhere..... there!
Dipper saw a patch of ceiling where someone did a bad repair job. He threw off the rug under it, revealing weak floor boards. He used his foot and broke the boards. Sure enough there was a half decomposed body of a teenager.
Dipper quickly pulled out his salt and gasoline and gave the body a soak. He struck a match and threw it on the body which immediately caught on fire.
He waited, catching his breath.
"Dipper?!" He heard Wendy call from upstairs.
"Down here!" He called back, is mouth like sand paper. Wendy came running down.
"Where is Mabel?" She asked.
"Right here." His twin said, standing in the back doorway.
The three of them stayed at the house in silence until the fire went out. Then they went back outside to head back to town.
"Wait, you are hunters?!" Wendy asked with surprise. The twins laughed.
"Yes, we are. Have been for three years." Dipper finally said. "What about you, Wendy?"
Wendy nodded. "Me and the gang have been for a year. A hunter came into town last summer, looking for someone to pass down their work." She said. "Well, its getting late. I better head home. See ya tomorrow?"
Mabel nodded. "Definitely."
The three got in their cars and drove back to town.
"At least we don't have to lie to Wendy." Mabel said as she wrapped a bandage around her arm. Dipper nodded as he drove, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Dipper? What is wrong?"
"Nothing, just..." Her brother trailed off.
"Just what?"
"Didn't you feel that? That... force?"
Mabel stopped wrapping her arm and tilted her head. "You mean like Star Wars?"
"No! No. Like.... like Bill..."
"Bill?! But didn't we beat him?!" Mabel screamed.
"I don't know, Mabel! Like I said, I don't think we did."
The twins pulled into town as the sun started to set, Wendy behind them.
They drove the rest of the way to the shack in a fearful silence.
